Howarth should be available next week (if a full NT game).

Yeah, it's going to be an U21/22 game to try to protect injuries 1 week before. Still can get injured in club matches but reducing it one game reduces the chance.

Howarth's return will put our defense almost back to full strength, with King and Widera returning also.

Why do you like Australian players so much?

My team has a total of one NT cap :D
2007-07-18 09:49:13

Because I was the coach of NT...:P and generally I like to train youth strikers that will play in the NT's in future. Deroo in Belgie, Briganti in Italy, Barbón in Brasil, Dreger and Maras in Australia :)

Line up against Rossiya is set in concrete. It's an U21 match with upto 4 22 yr olds playing. A few new faces, a few old ones, but this is the last game before the world cup kicks off.

Also if you haven't already, please state whether you wish to enter the U21 WC or not. Other possible options include the Copa America or we can arrange friendlies with the small mix of teams not participating in either. Let me know asap so I can let the organizers know.

Your call Dave. Which will give more value?
2007-07-21 06:23:46
Depends on the classification of value. Getting more ranking points to gain a better qualification position, we would have more chance in either U21 WC or arranging our own friendlies.

Getting more experience against stronger teams, then we should enter the Copa America.

I will make the call if no one has any preferences, but I'm just giving people the opportunity to state their particular preferences, to try and encourage participation.

My current call would be to just arrange friendlies so we get a better qualification group next season.

Why would Australia enter the Copa America? :\

If you reckon arrange our own friendlies then that's what I vote for. 2nd pref is U21 WC.
2007-07-21 07:07:26
they decided to have 2 invited teams to make it a 16 team competition I believe.

Completely agree.
