The only thing I didn't liked was how the strikers were placed when the ball was on the wing.

What do you think about Willis cometer? I guess that with 1-2 level higher technique and after 2 seasons of pace he will be a killer :)

we still struggle to score despite a pretty useful pass from willis, croxall missed twice. What position are you actually referring to, the corner position was set like that to cover a possible throw in but they had it marked so the plan didn't work out. Other than that a bit too close to the halfway for our strikers.

Disappointing result, makes it 4 weeks without scoring. We should have buried at least 1 but instead we coughed up a penalty to let them score.

The few chances Willis got he created some chances, just needs quite a bit more pace and a few more tech levels and he'll be pretty hard to contain.

I meant that the strikers weren't placed well for passes from wings. Augerinos was placed too much to the left, and Byers was very much too much to the right. Imo there always must be someone placed as high as possible when the ball is on the wing, in the centre, or a little bith right/left.

Yup, will be useful at the end of Quals/at the beginning of World Cup. I the World Cup he should be at least formid-outstanding in pace...

Yeah I thought I had placed Augerinos one click and drag from the centre but obviously that dragged out further for some reason. Might go and investigate that.

Pilic had a pretty woeful game for his standards also.

Well the next two weeks are fixed

25-8 Venezuela (format still to be decided)
1-9 Sweden (U21 match)

That takes us through the danger period with all the U21 WC qualifiers, so we should be safe from here on.

Ok after discussions with the manager of Venezuela the match has been confirmed as an U21 match. So for those with U21 players who think they've got a chance, feel free to let myself know via sk-mail. The next two weeks shall be interesting and a chance to rebuild lost ranking points and lost pride in the process. Hope everyone sticks around and remains active despite this bad patch we're going through.

I'm with ya Dave. Maybe we need to think about some more user interest games, like a veterans Over 30s game which was considered a while ago. Or a specific age like all players 24yo game or the like. [:P]

It's a good mix up seeing some new faces in the squad.

yeah those things will come up later once the hassle of all the U21 qualifying is over and booking a friendly during these times. I promised at the start of the season for these things and I intend to fulfill them :).

Won't be easy to find an opponent later, as New teams cup, U21 World Cup and Copa America start, not many teams will be free, so better start making the schedules :)

btw - Dreger will get his chance? not that high at form but not that bad at all...

tbh once qualification is over that knocks out a large chunk of teams, we've got games til the end of qualifications, so I'm not overly concerned :p.

Team will be worked out tomorrow I'll have to consider a few possibilities.

Hm...you might be right, a lot of teams will get kicked out of tourneys. :)
