Yes, but at some stage you can't continuously use the same tactic because if you notice, each time they're modifying their tactic, getting more shots and restricting us until a point like this where it's enough to win.

Nothing we can do now, there's no use blaming players as we're still better than NZ, it was just a poor choice for a game of this magnitude. You got beaten because you pressed, which is a terrible choice given the fact we didn't need to chase the game, we just had to keep them goalless.

I've been logging on regularly all day and seeing no posts, so when I logged on an saw 10 new in one topic I knew what the result was.

Anyway, at least we have '2 chances' to get through. We have lost one of those, but fingers crossed we get the other.

And I'm sure we aren't the only ones hoping Turkey wins as most other teams would prefer to come up against us in the finals than Austria

Well thats it for us, no WC qualification, missing out so close again :(

10:4 in shots, 2:3 in goals...till '80 it was 2:1 for Turkiye, then in '84 and '89 Osterreich scored...

Meh, it wasn't that result that sealed our fate. Poor efforts in crucial matches deserve to be punished.

Anyways we probably were fortunate to be in that position after 2 lucky breaks against Osterreich. In saying that it's a shame we didn't take a golden opportunity to qualify.

Maybe next time :).

Disappointing result. Considering Nesic wasn't selected, we had plenty of strength at the back to not concede 5 goals. It's a shame to bomb out after getting so close. Yet again, we've missed out by a very small margin.

Unfortunately, I won't be taking part in these elections.

I screwed the WC quals, so it's time someone else takes his chance. Also I'm not really into another season of fighting for the Top 32. :p

We're at place 33 in the rank, the squad will be really good for next qualifications - just check how many 26-27yo players are in the first team and how many decent 25yo there are.

Attack: Barnes - Huxley - Leijer
Wing: Erdogan - Griffiths - Fihaki
Mid: O'Donoghue, Haliti, Lozanovski, Stathakis
Def: Dodd, Haddleton, Lozanovski, Mrdja, Perosh, Poutakidis, Rayner, Scott, Wimbridge

All of them will be 30yo or younger, plus old-timers like Stewart, Puca etc.

i was ashamed i`ve stolen his qualifications...he won 2 times against Austria, he deserved the place at the WC

Nah, you did what was fair of you - you did your best, as you did before against Osterreich. It'd be unfair if you had given me an easier game...:)

Anyway...after a good night's sleep...:p I've decided that I will try for yet another 2 seasons. We're very close to get to top32 and be seeded in 2nd basket, hopefully this time we'll make it! :)
