Asunto: NEWS Sokker- big changes are coming!
Not true.Last weekend i choose not to play any NT matches for Shqiperia, because I had 10 injured players, I still have 6 injured players. And for smaller countries, we don't have the luxury to replace a good player that is injured with another one.
And if the players will not receive training from the NT,you know the meaning, the richer get richer and poorer gets poorer.
Smaller countries getting totally screwed.

This is what I said before. That change Takes about 10% of training away from small countries.
As as a manager in cymru and the cymru u21 manager, the NT games basically becoming arcade is a bit of a let down. It gives me less incentive to care for the manager role and less chance to develop my and the other cymru managers young players. Now I understand the frustration with the current issues with injuries and I do agree they are in a bad situation, but now with no training at stake then I can see other managers also saying they won't bother with friendlies to save rank so the only people playing friendlies are the pure compeitive countries with high rated young players. For me I would have preferred injuries being removed for national team games but training being less, I know I'm a small voice with this opinion and also developers might have a lot to do, but if they were just straight forward with communication as to why they do what they do, I would appreciate that.
You're absolutely right. As a Russian U21 coach, I see no point in playing friendlies.
The truth is that by canceling the training what the friendly U21 matches offered, the interest from the youth national team decreases significantly. It requires a complete change of attitude, there is no point in playing U20 matches, because it only results in the loss of ranking points. Practically, this season will not result in any development for any of U21 players whose team does not go to the World Cup. I don't see any point in this rule change.
It was nice when I was talking with other managers about minutes their players gets in NT. Now this part of the game is dead. Who cares if his player plays in NT friendly or not. One of the social aspects of this game has just been killed.
I managed the German U21s for 19 seasons, and every season I said the same thing: managers shouldn't expect their players to be nominated in the U21s because of the extra training. Training is not a matter for the U21s. The responsibility lies solely with the clubs. People accepted that and continued to train U21 players, and they were happy to see their players in the U21s, even if it was only for a few minutes.
Do not compare Germany to small countries. Now - some first-11 Slovenija U21 players are that weak, that they would have problems to find advanced training slots in any club. The only way they get training is just kindness of some people they want help and WAS bonus training from NT.
I wont be surprised, if some of that players will be just dismissed and lost. Some of the users will easly find much better players to train them.
Results of that change can be disaster for small countries.

Your U21 NT will play more official matches this season, your U21 players will accumulate training in that matches. Do you think this is correct? The small countries players are not trained for NT participate! Our friendly matches are nonsense!

(Canada u21 manager)
I am not so pessimistic.. u21 players from small communities are mostly so weak, that there is no interest from top teams..
in my team, most of regular starters are based in average teams, which will find enough minutes to train them. in Canada u21, probably noting will change dramatically.. additionally u21 NT players from small communities are mostly trained by managers, who are doing that to earn money (as me for example).
I see 2 issues, which are probably more problematic
1. how will this change affect the market? If the price will go down, because top clubs will not be able to find minutes for 21-22 yo players (usually sold for business at this age), I will loose interest to train them and I will probably focus to train better players from top nations..
2. what will be the motivation to coach u21 NTs from small countries (quite a huge number of teams - could be 30, which are not competitive)? I took over in Canada, because I wanted to prepare players for senior NT mainly.. Sorry, I am a cleaver guy :) and I know, that there is no chance to reach promotion (honestly to beat 4 of 5 my opponents). So what will be the engine for me, when I lost the only tool to improve the situation in my Country?

I also coached Pilipinas U21s for 8 seasons, and I said the same thing.
People accepted that the responsibility over training lies solely with their clubs and continued to train U21 players, and they were happy to see their players in the U21, even if it was only for a few minutes.
That's all I have to say.
I'm not trying to change your mind, I'm just sharing with you another aspect, the aspect of my experience. ;)
