For a inner MiD I prefer PM than passing.
But I guess some other person could chose passing over PM. It is just preferences.
I like playing with many midfields, so I need high PM but maybe not as high passing because they are close so most probably the pass would be ok.

It has to be PM over passing, but they're largely useless without each other.
Just from a logical hierarchy of actions
1. You decide what to do with the ball.
2. You do it.
If you want to expand that to other positions.
1. You get to the ball first (Pace)
2. You control (Tech)
3. You decide what to do (PM/Striker)
4. You do it (Passing/Striker)
and Defender is in there somewhere between 1 & 2 if you're not quick enough to get to the ball first.
PM influence on shooting is up for debate.

PM = The skill to make faster decisions, better decisions, see more field (action radius), position themselves better (though tactical discipline is the main skill for this one)
I just mean that decision making is a mental skill, which makes any other skill better, and that is only partially of what PM does!
So either the decision making should be 100% dependant of tactical discipline (which also would be the more logical choice, cause it builds on exp), OR there should be an additional skill, called positioning...but that's going to be too much.

Not in theory...but I see lots of players standing out of line when they have low PM... maybe it's a visual flaw, I don't know, but it certainly seems it has an influence.

Actually it must be a lot of the weird stuff together to get to that total sum.... thats why he need detox
