True. You just miss one thing. Instead of inflation problems we now face deflation problems.... and all those who been farming 20 something seasons, their money is worth the double at least.
2025-05-24 18:07:39
False,
All top players prices are significantly higher that before, except goalkeepers.
2025-05-24 19:48:27
No, they falled steadily since taxes came. They were only higher from the period from 2 matches a week till some weeks after taxes

It's not worth as much as double, but definitely the prices decreased especially during current season, especially among young players I think

couple seasons ago we saw lots of 20-30m euro transfers for 16yo players, not anymore

Top 30 highest transfers since seasons 66 till today: only 1 from current season
Top 60: still the same 1 transfer from current season
Top 90: total 3 transfers from current season
2025-05-24 20:27:56
While it can be statistical error, doesnt your summary say the opposite?

Top 30: Coef = 30/66 = 0.45 per season, This season: 1
Top 60: Coef = 60/66 = 0.90 per season, This season: 1
Top 90: Coef = 90/66 = 1.36 per season, This season: 3

All 3 are higher, not sure if there could be 3 statistical errors. thou

Ah, I see the misunderstanding, the browser automatically corrected "since 66 season" to "since 66 seasons" :)

I'm talking about last 8 seasons (s66-s73), including current one

Among highest transfers during those seasons, from current one there are:

1/top 30 = 29 from earlier 7 seasons
1/top 60 = 59 from earlier 7 seasons
3/top 90 = 87 from earlier 7 seasons

I think s68 and s69 were the inflation-culmination seasons where prices reached the MAX

from last 8 seasons:

top 6: s68 - 3 / s69 - 3 [so 100% of 6 highest transfers in last 8 seasons came from just 2 seasons]
top 30: s68 - 9 / s69 - 8 [so over 50% (17/30) of 30 highest transfers in last 8 seasons came from just 2 seasons]

comparison s66/67/68/69 vs s70/71/72/73:

top 10: 7 vs 3
top 30: 24 vs 6
top 60: 48 vs 12
top 90: 72 vs 18

gigantic difference

Yeah, I know prices for older players also dropped, but IMO the biggest difference can be seen amongst young players.

For example, highest prices of 16yo players from this season (not counting one crazy Chinese 16yo who was overpaid at least by 300%)

Top 3 transfers this season // their place in last 8 seasons by price

#1 6.3m euro = #131
#2 4.9m euro = #195
#3 4.2m euro = #231
2025-05-24 22:16:04
Yes, but its the older players long time farmers now can buy much cheaper, hence they could be very competitive for much Longer time for their Dragon hoarded gold.... hence why the value of savings are much more worth
2025-05-24 22:23:32
Yeah but old/young doesn't matter here that much. Hoarders usually don't start with buying old players, they buy top 16-18yo talents and create a team for themselves from zero, and the value of 16-18yo dropped much harder than the older players (also due to the fact that the youths were worth much more than ~30yos)

But then yes, when they need to widen the roster / change players for younger after first generations gets over 31yo, then the low prices of already trained prices are important as well. In general deflation always will favour those with money in their account and inflation will hurt them, it's how it works in real life and in sokker, I think nobody disagreed on that :)
2025-05-24 23:25:42
I think your point is fundamentally flawed because you put as a reference point the moment of peak inflation, the most unnatural moment in the Sokker's finances history.

Yes, the value of money is higher now compared to two seasons ago (although not double) but still lower compared to before the big inflation 10 seasons ago.

Avg prices of 3x 17 attackers (in high form), at age 29, 30 and 31
