A “change” only for NT… basically for 0.01% users in Sokker. Doesn’t affect my team or improves my experience in game or most of the users.

Welchy para Tass
Anyone else hear a whooshing sound in this thread?
2025-07-23 08:53:02
It was sarcasm... obviously making a working link to arrange friendlies for NT is something that should have been done years ago and not a big change...

They are working on "international cup", that's the only big change for near (?) future. Personally I don't like this idea (league would make much more sense to me), but maybe people will.

didn't they speak about a group stage? So it might have a bit of a league. Or would you like to replace national leagues by international?

Please, can someone rename this forum to "No changes are coming" and close it? :D

Yes, it's supposed to be group stage + knockout like old Champions League

I would keep national leagues + add an international league... although I think 4 official club games / week is too much, it would be better if weekly there were:

1x league, 1x international league, 1x national cup/friendly (although it's possible they will kill friendlies or even the national cup)

Why I would like the international league instead of cup though:

- same number of games for everyone (in cup 50% of teams will stop playing after 6 games, 75% after 7 games)

- it would be ONE competition - instead with cup format there will be 40 different cups and for me it doesn't make much sense to compete in "bronze cup V" or "platinum cup 17"... there will be 40 international cup winners every season, it will be a glorified, random arcade tournament

- there will be no continuity - with leagues you go up and down, but the cup will be based only on your national league... so you can win your international cup but go down in national league and then next season you will play in worse international cup, doesn't make sense to me

with INT league you would have assignment at first based on your country league, but then your level would depend on how well you do in the season, you could reach the top, play vs best teams in the world if you're good enough - I don't think that will happen with cup system based on your league strength. I don't know the details so I might be wrong, but it sounds like teams from small countries / weak 1st divisions won't be able to play in the best cup against strongest teams (like in CC)...

I agree. Internation league would be way better.
2025-07-23 11:34:04
:)

another thing is that if they're adding international competitions, then it would be a good idea to connect them with sponsors/fanclubs (like national leagues) so that people from small countries would be able to get better weekly money / bigger fan clubs

but that would also make sense mostly with international league, with international cup you will get teams from leagues at your own level any way, so small country leagues would get every season weak int cup opponents, so it wouldn't really impact their sponsor / fanclub situation

So another extra stadium income, right? :)

They realized they broke economy with adding extra match and there will be another one. Hope it will be replacement of national cup ...
2025-07-23 12:05:51
Either that or they will cut down the stadium income (as they planned to do that in the past)

possibly even both...

I don't know, stadium economy doesn't feel broken to me at this point.

With my team last season (finished mid table) - my ticket revenue was only a million euro over player salary.
