I think all sales should be reversed or cancelled when happened during or after this downtime, but placed for sale before the downtime! These prices are not fair at all.
Maybe some players were, but still...

That should be so, but the more time passes, the less of a chance devs will do anything. No idea why they arent even commenting on the downtime other than smth on facebook.

Passing or def training?

If you would succeed in bringing him to double divine on both pace and def, he's an insane good defender!
If you choose passing, you need to decide to make him a winger or a CDM, but then he also needs other training.

Imo, DEF is the easiest option. But for winger he needs pace AND technique AND passing AND PM training.
For defmid, he needs technique AND defender AND passing AND PM
For def, he needs DEF and passing / PM training and maybe some pace

Train him passing, defender and playmaker, this way he going to be most even distribution!Defender and technique will pop up from secondarity training!
