Asunto: Stadium attendance

Hello there,
Let's discuss a little bit the stadium attendance.
I have checked my 3 last home games and this is quite phenomenal situation:
2023-04-02 - 28.990 (against 5th rating);
2023-04-09 - 42.810 (against 6th rating);
2023-04-16 - 48.389 (against 22nd rating);
All op teams were in a quite bad shape before our game;
My fans were very happy;
same weather conditions;
same ticket price;
I can guess the size of fan base in all 3 teams, but it is obvious the last opp has it smallest.
How can it variate so much and how come the worst opp got almost twice attendance compared with first opp?
This is something what doesn't add up at all.
Anyone have any insights?

Thats weird indeed, can you show the graph of supporters mood?
I can't, they are madly in love now and last week, i can't say about first game for sure, but they were madly in love or one level down most, you can see my past games, they have no reasons to be mad:)
As far as I remember, it depends heavily on visiting supporters' size and mood.
Oh, now I can see that you don't have roofs on your 2 most important stands. It must have been that.
Doesnt roof helps only on bad weather? Is was "moderate clouds warm" on 2023-04-02
Long time ago we concluded that sokker supporters are posh. : )p
Match Attendance
Depends on:
-Size of the supporters clubs of both teams
-Fans mood of both clubs
-Match type
-Weather (roofs can help in keeping attendance on raining days)
-Ticket prices.
-Stadium size and stand types.
-Fan preferences on the different types of stands.
Fan preferences
Not every supporter likes the same type of stand. Some fans prefer seats, others benches, some others prefer terraces and others prefer to stand on the grass. If their favorite place is sold out they are likely to buy ticket for a superior stand but they will refuse to go to an inferior stand. Depending on the weather some supporter will buy a ticket only if a roof is available in his preferred stand.
Thus seats under roof is a must have! ; )

My assumption is that roof always helps. I believe without roofs every weather other than the best one gives some penalty to attendance. Texts about rain or something are just for us humans, for attendance algorithm it's all numbers, and the lower the number the bigger the penalty will be if you don't have roof everywhere.
I also believe it's always good to only have seats (under roof), and it's the best to have big two main stands and very small stands behind the goal (including stands in corners), because with seats under roof price X on main stand gives the same attendance as price 6/7 * X on stands behind goals. That's why my stadium looks this way, and I think it gives me a great income for my league and my fanclub size (~1800).

So the stadium is the same the day when 29k fans came to game and 48k fans came, this is not what made a difference.
I also noticed that I had a huge leak because i had benches, I am reconstructing them to seats under roof now and after this is finished i will put also the roof for 2 main places.
What I learned within last two weeks that it is crucial to have seats under roof all over the stadium
Mikoos might be right with his theory:)
But what i saw that behind the goal I had always biggest attendancy, second is the main area and worst attendancy are corners.
As far as I remember, it depends heavily on visiting supporters' size and mood.
This might be right, I might ask my last opponent what is their fan mood, but looking at the last games they will be very low and the fanbase shall be also lower than first two games.

There is a random factor when it comes to attendance, it might be as high as 30% between "good" and "bad" roll, probably that's where some of the difference between these matches come. But also as it was pointed out, opponent's fan club size and mood matters - and that first match was versus a club created in 2019 (maybe his fan club size isn't there yet?), most likely with a low mood - he had two big losses in league before your match (followed by a high win in a cup vs a weak team, but it probably didn't help their fan's mood much as that big win was expected by fans).
But what i saw that behind the goal I had always biggest attendancy, second is the main area and worst attendancy are corners.
When I stick to 6:7 in price proportions I get the same % on all stands (approximately, because there is always small randomness in fan distribution), for example in my lost cup match:
82.8000% (31464/38000) on main stands and 82.8666% (4972/6000) on others.

Take a look at attendance in this match.
If you can hit prices according to your opponent, then this is the perfect scenario (only one empty seat).

I know my prices were not optimal in that match, just wanted to give example of having the same attendance % on all stands.
If you have only one empty seat that's also not optimal, it means you could go for a bit higher prices with a minimal penalty in attendance = higher income. I get "all seats-1" too often for it to be optimal. Something like 98% is much better in my opinion :P

+1
1 seat empty it means same as full.
Maybe this fan got ill or something like that and he returned the ticket 1 minute before the match :D
I have noticed One of our Lithuanian team D'Oh that his stadium is full or one seat to full (39999), i told him to increase prices, he increased 20-25%, next match his attendance was 39862. I think he can increase even more!

Thanks Mikos for sharing your insights.
This 6/7 rule is very interesting and i will also try it when i have stadium ready.
But your stadium looks awful!!! I can't let this happen to my stadium! :D

I didn't know that. Thanks.
At the other hand, when I increase prices I get lower attendance so I thought this was optimal.
