Interview with -kokkie- (Nt Coach of Cameroon)
1. As you are new coach in the African series. I would like to speak about yourself something from the real life what we can't know about you!
Well, im a dutch guy, playing this game already for a very long time. Getting to 20 years i believe. I enjoy it a lot, unfortunately never won amy prizes. Had some bad luck in both the league as the cup. Next to this fame being my hobby, im a big Metal music fan and was really happy to see my former childhood heroes to be back on stage again. Linkin Park!
2. What is your favourite football club and players in the world?
My favorite club is PSV Eindhoven. Favorite played, I would say the Brazilian Ronaldo and Romario. In current day and age, i really like the playing style of players like Cody Gakpo from Liverpool and as i striker, Brian Brobbey from Ajax.
3. Have you got a favourite African teams or players?
Honestly, not really. Ofcourse Mo Salah is fantastic, though if i have to choose someone, it would be Hakim Ziyech. From a team perspective, the Cameroon team is actually one of my favorites.
4. As I saw you lead China in the last new seasons, why you left them? Why you choosed Cameroon? It can be really hard task for you. Nowadays Cameroon National team weaker and weaker.
Its not really that i left them. I was going up in elections with the current coach and won 3 times. I decided to give him a chance (also felt it was time to do something else), next to the fact that it looked like i would not be able to win anymore. Basically, after that decision, elections were already ongoing and for most NT's coaches were already elected. Cameroon came across my path and thought, well, why not give it a go. Though i do realize it is very difficult. The current group is getting very old and there are not that many youngsters. In the end i want to get the experience to become the Dutch NT coach in the future.
5. What do you mean about Cameroon chances?
I don't have illusions. They are zero with the current team. I try to create tactics for every match, see what works best and then hopefully we do get some decent matches near the end of the tournament.
6. What is your bet for the gold, silver or bronze medal?
I really would not know to be honest. I give high hopes for Senegal. Seems that they have one of the strongest teams. Silver and bronze could basically be the most lucky team i guess.
7. Who cause a big surprise on the African Cup?
If Cameroon would get some points, then Cameroon for sure ;)
8. Have you any tip which team will give a the best goalscorer, and who will win it?
Senegal
9. Who can become inthe the dream team from your team?
Again, i have to be honest here. I believe non of my players will.. slight chance for the goalkeeper, though i highly doubt it..
