Hi, I have a question about training defenders, I have this player as reference
Babür Demiray, age: 19
club: FC ASA Tg. Mureș, country: Türkiye
value : 403 000 lei
wage: 4 100 lei
unearthly [16] form
average [5] tactical discipline
height: 166 cm, weight: 69.2 kg, BMI: 25.11

poor [3] stamina tragic [0] keeper
very good [9] pace very good [9] defender
tragic [0] technique poor [3] playmaker
average [5] passing poor [3] striker

I dont know much about his talent as I didn't started the game long ago, I would like to know if there is a rule or guidance how to train a defender. I currently train him defence, at what skill should I stop him training defence and when to start with speed? When should I also train him stamina, as all of my young players are playing in the first team?

Thank you in advance :)

pace is the hardest to train (slowest) you should train pace till 12 pace then def to 12 pace then again pace 2-3 skills and again def..

tip.. buy all young players with same priority skills training plan.. for example if you want to train pass for your mid you should have all mid with lowest pass skill.. also for att buy same order skills.. 1st att 10 pace 10 tech and 8 striker 2nd att should be similar order with lower striker skill.. i hope you understand what i mean ( its bad to have one striker to have pace low and second to have striker low..) you cant train them properly

Thank you very much for you response and your tip, it might be a little to late now to change the roaster, but they kind of all the same skill and age, between 18-19 years old defender, I am training all my players, mid are getting pace, defenders defence at the moment, as soon as 1 player changes the skill to defence, I will change. What about the stamina? When should I go and train all my players stamina since I am playing all my young players in the league match? Should I train stamina like once every 4 weeks or wait till they have the primary skill and 2nd skill 12 for example? Thank you again

DO NOT TRAIN stamina..(especialy when you in lower league even if you are in high dont train stamina) it will jump few times per season with general training..

all players who train in advanced training get primary training you choose on specific skill and GT for all other skills.. ususally 7 GT is near 1 advanced training..

For long term results its best to train pace first, cause the effeciency of pace training slow down the most. However for short seight training and play performance training pace a bit later then def is best.

But you must also know sokker is not a 1-2 skill game.... Even when he has 18-18 pace-def, then if not tech for instance is high too, he Will not perform aswell....

Thank you for both for the responses and for the tips. I will not train Stamina :D as for the sokker not being a 1-2 skill game, I played a while ago sokker and returned again, I know its not a 1-2 skill game, but I dont have money to buy high class young player, at least not for now :) My 1st trainer has extra speed, technique and magical defence. It's the best I could find at the moment. Thank you again for both :D

By the end of this season, my mid player will look like this:

age: 21 (will turn to 22y)

average [5] stamina tragic [0] keeper
formidable [11] pace adequate [6] defender
incredible[13] technique formidable [11] playmaker
very good [9] passing good [7] striker

He won't be a star player, and economically it is certainly not the most profitable approach. But the talent is fine and I need a trainable mid player for the a-team. So, I would like to train him at least one more season.
Question is:
a) train predominantly def with some pace and ps
b) train predominantly ps with some pace and tech

I tend to choose b). What do you think?

seems best for this guy is to become wing so i would train him paca and pass maybe 1 to 2 ratio 1 training pace and 2pass till he is bit balanced ..

I recon he will have a hard time to become a decent wing since his pace is only formidable and we're almost at the end of the season, so he'll turn 22 pretty fast.
Imo, if he can pull up his pace until magical, then focus solely on def for 3 to 4 seasons, he can be a decent defmid.
But for wing, he's too far behind imo.
Either his pace will be too low, or his tech / passing combo will be.

well i did not said it will be superb wing but what make you think it will be faster to be inner mid for wing you need mostly only 3 skills for inner will be quite complex but thats just me

by the way, i started the tool for calculating trainings is still a work on progress lot of factors are not in place yet but it may become somethings @terrion thanks for your feedback

This ME is not made for average wingers. They will simply not ad value to your play. Why do most U21 teams not play with wingers? Because most of the time the defenders are too strong for the level of wingers. And the difference increases with the age, up to the level of divine pace and tech. Then the odds are balanced again. So making a so so winger is imo not a good plan and his value will not increase as much as with a defmid. It's easier to have a decent defmid, having strong defender skill and around outstanding midskills, because he doesn't need divine pace and he will add value to your tactic. But that's my opinion. You have yours and that's fine too.

Good luck with your program!

Unfortunately form is the one that drives me most :(
I gave my opinion based on current distribution of skills there are many ways to develop player but to make decent inner mid he needs def and this one is behind on that skill :(
