If you want magical coaches then set everything on max.
Walenty Ciepierski, age: 48
wage: 177 000 zł
club: The Evil`s, country: Polska,
magical [15] coach
Training effectiveness as head coach:
unearthly [16] of stamina outstanding [12] of keeper
unearthly [16] of pace unearthly [16] of defender
unearthly [16] of technique unearthly [16] of playmaker
unearthly [16] of passing unearthly [16] of striker
just got this one in 15 tries, everything on max
was looking for either unearthly or cheap brilliant [14] assistant, he will do alright as the main coach though, especially since I don't plan to train GK for a while...

New setup after my main 122yo coach that I had since January 2008 retires:
Head coach
Walenty Ciepierski, age 48
magical [15] coach
Coach of the junior team
Romuald Gręda, age 46
unearthly [16] coach
Assistants
Marek Kranich, age 44
brilliant [14] coach
Remigiusz Szwajdych, age 41
brilliant [14] coach
Jarostryj Oleszko, age 41
brilliant [14] coach
10+ seasons of not worrying about the coaches for me :)

This two I pulled for around 600 000 $:
Mateo Roško, age: 55
wage: 37 500 €
club: Wretchedster reUnited, country: Hrvatska,
magical [15] coach
Training effectiveness as head coach:
formidable [11] of stamina outstanding [12] of keeper
unearthly [16] of pace unearthly [16] of defender

unearthly [16] of passing magical [15] of striker

brilliant [14] of passing outstanding [12] of striker
Now I have new (and much cheaper) junior coach, and assistant...
Required training skills were mostly max, or 2x14 (stamina and keeper) and 6x15.
Your coach looks nice, I was hoping to pull something similar!

From my small sample of 20 spins I have similar experience, they are all very bad not even close to something useful According to the rules: , “The more precise the definition, the lower chance to find the exact skills you need.“
so the roulette is supposed to work this way, fewer filled fields, higher chance of Unearthly but I'm not sure it works like that in reality.

???
where did you find this paragraph?
only thing that I found similar in the rules is this:
"The more precisely you define his skills the higher the charge is."
Completely different from what you wrote.

it obviously doesn't, if it did work that way, then the best way would be to set everything to "Any" and then the game would magically guess what coach you want...
the more precise the search, the bigger the chance for a close enough finding... but still you can set everything to [16] and get a coach with overall [11]

In English IS actually written above skills select: The more precise the definition, the lower chance to find the exact skills you need.
Coach recruitment
It could be quite hard to find a coach exactly matching your reqirements. The more precise the definition, the lower chance to find the exact skills you need.
Cost of recruitment depends on the number and the quality of selected skills.

Not in the rules but in the Recruitment page, my bad.
It should work that way and its kind of logical.
Now I made an experiment setting only “Stiker“ on Magical and everything else on “Any“ 10 times and I got 9x16 and 1x15 Striker skills so its seem working like it is supposed to be so maybe the statement is true and my anecdotal experience was just bad luck.

If definitely works like it should / like it's logical.
If you set magical in skill x, then you have higher chance to get magical than if you set it for brilliant, incredible or any etc.
But since it's part random it's only HIGHER chance, so you can still set magical and get formidable, while you can set formidable and get magical... but in xxx tries in first option you will get more magicals than in the second option...
As for this part that you and 2posto mentioned:
"It could be quite hard to find a coach exactly matching your reqirements. The more precise the definition, the lower chance to find the exact skills you need."
I think it's just badly written and misleading...
It should be closer to the Polish version (which isn't perfect as well)
I would re-write it like this:
"It can be quite hard to find a coach perfectly matching your requirements. The more precise the definition and the more skills you expect at chosen level, the harder it will be to find the exact, perfect coach that you want."
The idea behind the paragraph is that the more specific coach you want [for example 8x 16 or 8x 13 or 7x 16 and 0 goalkeeper etc.] the harder it will be to get him because every skill must be exactly as you expect from a range from 0 to 16 (so 1/16 chance raised up by x% by setting what you expect, but also POSSIBLY with higher chance to get skills closer to average than the outliers, so easier to get 11-13 than 15-16 or 0-1 - but that part is just my theory)
If you only expect 16 in striker and don't care about the others, then you just need to get a "good" draw in 1 out of 8 skills, not 8 out of 8 skills, so much easier to achieve.

Maybe you're right but I understand it more in this way:
Set everything on “Unearthly“ - 30% chance of Striker to be Unearthly
Set only Striker on “Unearthly“ and everything else on “Any“ - 80% chance of Striker to be Unearthly
(the percentages are only indicative)
So following this logic leaving GK at “any“ should increase the odds for Unearthly on other skills.
But, again, I'm not sure and thats why I'm asking.

I don't think so, because in Polish version (and the game was "made" in Polish) this paragraph:
"It could be quite hard to find a coach exactly matching your reqirements. The more precise the definition, the lower chance to find the exact skills you need."
Is very different. There is nothing said about "lower chance to find exact skills", it says "it will be harder to get a suitable/right specialist"

It is empirically provable, but I don't want to spend more money on science :D
With my experiment - 9 out of 10 Unearthly Striker when only Striker is set - it is statistically very unlikely that I would get the same result if all skills were set to Magical. But it may have been just a coincidence.
Lets hope someone has more definitive knowledge on that part.

I think that the underlined part is referring to overall search, not to the form itself. It's just some introduction text.

Imo it should be possible to have the coach recruitment settings to be placed at unearthly too. It's very stupid that, as a manager, you cannot look for that kind of skill, though you're striving to get it multiple times! I don't understand that they deliberately left out that choice and made the function so dubious that if you place it at unearthly, it automatically redirects to magical, while that is actually the skill you're trying to avoid.
Why can't they just increase the money you invest into the tool, but on the flipside, generate a coach that will look exactly like you want him to be?
Say 500k for each unearthly skill, set on a maximum of 4M on 8x unearthly.
If this is randomized, then you could let contruction workers try to expand you stadium for a fixed price and get a random outcome too... ridiculous.
It breaks all immersivism the game has to offer. One guy gets lucky to find 4 magical coaches in 10 tries, all with an ago of below 50. Another one spends millions and get 2 magical coaches, both at the age of 58+... My main question is where to draw the line between game and simulator?
