My post:

Why I cannot rename my topic's title?

So, the question is, why I can'T, not that who can do it now. (cause I was told those are the mods) .

Your post:
Because only mods and admins can rename topic names. Its option only for them because they moderate forum

So, you answered what I actually knew before, but didnt answer my question: WHY, WHY, WHY oh why?

Thanx
:)

Why what? Why do we moderate?
2007-11-09 19:59:36
"of course that's true :) check english rules, for example..."
What are you talking about???
The text anaconda quoted ISN'T in the ENGLISH text translations was made from. Did you expect I translated from Polish to Swedish, or from Swedish to Swedish or what? ;-)
2007-11-09 20:00:46
No need to speak like this, I already said I made a mistake, read my previous posts...
2007-11-09 20:04:41
And what was the difference concerning need between how you joked, and how I joked, except my joke was funnier? ;-)

You guys are like parrots, repeating the rules automatically, instead of looking behind them, and try to correct, what is strange. :)

So:
Why I cannot rename my topic's title, if I want? What would that cause to the game, the communtiy, anyone, if I did so? Its my own topic, I created it, I should be also able to even rename it any time I want. Ok, if you want that much, let this privilege for the mods also (although I cant see any reason for that except using swearwords in titles), but why not make it free for the topic starter also? Would that be so terrible?

Im not talking about erasing, or replacing, or anithing else, but renaming.

Thank you for your patience, and answers

coach,i took that from news page. You can find it here (second or third,i think)

@rutinman: don't know what to say about your idea. It would be a real mess if thread's opener can change the title, imo. If i want to lead smb to a topic, for instance,X,it will be like, wait ,where's X topic?! Now it's Y?!

I like to think of it as weighing up the pros and cons.

Lets say it is how it is, only mods/admins can change the title of threads.

Pro: The title will remain proper in terms of language used and the topic wishing to be discussed. Cannot be abused by idiots looking to cause havoc.

Con: If thread starter wants to change the thread title to something else, they have to wait a little bit for a mod to see it and change the title.

To me, the pros outweigh the cons.

That was almost a year ago (!),
and a half year before I made translation looking at the English rules we had. I don't bother to change language in my profile to check if the English rules are compleeted now . Are they?

I'd agree with this, probably :), but while it's not possible, you can always mail a mod and ask him to change your topic title.

they are almost. I contacted english-speaking mods, they will update it asap.
2007-11-10 00:24:13
Well. I didn't wondered if they WILL,
but if they WAS updated ;-)

Odd the handling isn't "halfautomatic", when something important is changed in the game =
1. Change "direct" in the Polish rules, and translate to English (or the opposite).
2. Translators in all countries get the English versions, with the changes marked in red.

IF not doing that "direct" it easy become a mess concerning what's updated, and what's not.

It's always "direct", but in this case they forgot it, or sth.

ie, look at last news (buddy system); it was added in the rules.
