Very good race for Kimi but also Vettel showed very big class.

Nice win of Kimi Räikkönen :) And a memorable victory as Ayrton Senna was the last winning a race in a Lotus.

Indeed. That one word is the only thing that has a connection with the real Lotus.

Well, not Lotus as it was, but it is the Lotus team so it does count as a Lotus victory. Just as the victory of Räikkönen counts, with or without some 'luck'. And mechanical failure and penalties isn't lucky, it's bad luck or mistakes of the other teams/drivers, and also the winner still has to have a good car to beat the others who were still in the race.

So it was a great performance of Kimi Räikkönen :)

It is. The current Lotus team just bought the rights to the name, they are not the official heirs of the real Lotus team. Mercedes is the official heir of the Daimler-Benz team (as they are/were both the official team of Mercedes-Benz).

Mercedes is the official holder of the rights to the Mercedes name, just as Lotus Team is the official holder of the Lotus name. Or as Fiat is the official holder of the rights to the Ferrari name. What is "the real Lotus team"?
The owners of the Lotus name allow it to be used in ex-Renault just like Mercedes allows its name to be used in ex-Brawn (i.e., ex-Honda).
This Lotus is as connected to Senna's as much as this Mercedes is connected to Fangio's.


In any case, I don't get how you can be the official holder of the name rights and not be the "official heir" of it - one thing contradicts the other :P

Yes, even in the unlikely event of Ferrari performing clearly better than Red Bull in Brazil (I see no reason to it), luck would have to play a major role in the final race for Alonso to win. Basically, if Vettel finises the race he'll be world champion :P
