Can a race become any more boring?

Have you ever watched F1 ten years ago.

It's just stupid that they can't drive on the limit because of the tyres. Vettel has shown that once more by doing a 1.16 at the end.

Well, how much to the limit you can go depends on the car you are driving :P

But in Monaco's case, the walls are first-order with respect to the tyres. I think the only non-safety car action we got was Sutil in the last part of the race (I'm counting Perez bullying everyone Montoya-style out). At the end of the day, it is a circuit when nothing can happen without accidents, and accidents result in safety car / race stop, so...

It really doesn't. Driving on the limit doesn't mean you go fast. If they were driving Caterhams to the limit, they would still be slower than the rest. Because they have to save tyres, they simply don't go as fast as they can. That's stupid. Okay, tyres must get worse after time (not like the Bridgestones that lasted like forever), but this is too much. If you go fast, you just know you're compromising your race. Ferrari and Lotus seem to do okay, but they still don't drive on the limit. The cars can go faster, but the tyres only manage to keep that pace for two or three laps.

Edit: And yes, in Monaco, it quite impossible to overtake unless there's a really big difference in speed. It is possible though: Alonso starting from 24th position and finishing 6th or 7th I think two/three years ago (when he crashed in Massenet in free practice 3). However, I cannot imagine F1 without circuits like Monaco, Spa or Monza. They must remain on the calendar forever.

With the current rules and mindset, I don't think Monaco should stay in the f1 calendar. Such boring races are a waste of time...

There was a time that F1 was great, when the driver was the most factor and not the car and technology.
It causes some serious injured and even death, but everybody know that the risk is part of the game.

Today most of the races are so boring that its even hard to watch only the highlights :(

I don't get people that are now complaining about boring races. I really don't get it. (Monaco is always a rather boring race.) In my opinion, the races in the Bridgestone-era were more boring. The last years, it has been much better.

So the moves Alonso makes doesn't matter because he is special? Then Vettel's move don't count either. And Hamilton, he's special too, he doesn't count.

They will never touch the Monaco GP. And they are right. People asking the Monaco GP to be removed have no respect for F1's history.

they count but Alonso is not a good example to show how exciting the f1 races are, because the pilots dont make so many passings thru as Alonso does
