I was there even before, and I guess I'll continue to be there as long as it exists.

And I can confirm: now it sucks :P

I think the last good year was 2012, if I remember correctly, or around that. One of Vettel's titles, the first one with DRS, I believe. There were tons of team who could win at least one race, very open championship, lots of overtaking, etc. But they just couldn't help changing the rules once again. They keep saying they need to cut costs so small teams can survive, but they also keep changing rules, which gives a huge advantage to big teams (the only teams that can re-design the whole car from scratch after every change).
It was the last good year, but also quite isolated: it was already bad before, then we had that oasis, and then it got worse and worse. You can see there is no hope when all the ideas are something like "let's randomize this, let's introduce some pure luck factor there, let's adjust the scoring so last year it would result in apparently a closer fight (but it produces the opposite effect this year)", etc. And everything is regulated, engines can't be more powerful than X, you have to use this and that tyre, blah blah blah. Many people used to complain about too much strategy, but at least it was a top strategy game back then, with fuel loads, tyre choice, etc.
Schummy's years were more itneresting in that sense, and as a Ferrari fan I can't complain :P but it was very hard to see anyone overtaking other than at pit stops. Far from the Villeneuve-Arnoux days...

Anyway: F1 has always been an arms race between wealthy car builders literally burning dollars, oil, and rubber on 4-wheel (sometimes 6 :P) cigarette boxes while watching everything from their Montecarlo's yacht. For a different type of competition, you had plenty of minor series to follow. All this "eco-fiendly, cost-effective, semi-politically-correct", over-manipulated F1 is making no sense and going nowhere fast.

I'm started watching F1 since the hakkinen-coulthard era then kimi-schumi until vettel-schumi-lewis.. start feeling iritated with F1 because of team order during shumi & rubens era in ferrari and really hard to accept in schumi-massa.. after that F1 is just a boring race because of that the so called tactic, a dominant team and a lot of rules changing every season..

after that F1 is just a boring race

One of the first things I saw when I started watching F1 was Ayrton Senna going in a straight line on San Marino. After that things started to change, but a few years after his accident where still really exciting F1 years. It became more and more boring when the cars became more and more the same and Schumacher started to win year after year. It never became the sport it was in those days, Alesi, Berger, Hill, Barrichello, Villeneuve and the early years of Schumacher and ofcourse 'dad' Verstappen.

This is the year of my first races :) Funny to see a race again. The cars are really different, completely different noses

F1 waited too long to make changes to get real races again. When it is almost impossible to overtake it becomes boring. I have slept so many hours during F1 races, just because the race results came from pit stops and sometimes a crash. I simply fell asleep, almost every race. So I haven't watched F1 for a number of years but now that we have a Dutch rider (who is going to stay) my interest in F1 is a little bit back again :)

EDIT: I'm not an Ferarri fan, but this is 1 of best looking F1 cars ever (I think), and 2 others that are also very nice:

How long will the stewards let Verstupid break the rules unpunished? Are they going after some kind of record? Even his own team sees the problem, but not the stewards?
Man, this sport is corrupt.
2016-10-30 21:51:17
What a moron :D

His name is Verstappen. And others can't drive like him and start complaining about it. All the 'big' boys against the new guy who will become champion in a couple of years. Ofcourse the FIA will dance for the largest teams, just as the UEFA will dance for the largest clubs in Europe when they say dance.

Yes corrupt, but not what you are blabbering about like those whining drivers.
2016-10-30 23:07:04
And what about Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg in first corner? No time penalties. And Vettel against Ricciardo? Also no time penalty.

Yes, corrupt, as in helping the 'big' boys ....
