I dont see why anyone plays ShatTrick when you have this game. It's a horrendously boring statfest where it's impossible to ever upset the big teams.
How can HT be random?
Does anyone here know what random actually means? It's decidedly unrandom in my opinion - it's the lack of random that can make that game a little boring at times.

Back when i was playing there was quite a bit of random.
What i really didnt like about it was there was no learnable link between cause and effect. You couldnt read the game and say "This formation isnt working for x reason, y would work better". You've got your players, they've got better players, you're going to lose and you wont know why apart from because they've got better players.
Big team crushes little team. Relentless. Better team invariably beats weaker team. That's not random. Matches are pretty much predictable. Sure, random plays a major role in most ME calculations, but from my 4 years of playing I've only ever been surprised by two or three matches - including a nice 3rd round Cup win recently. The whole thing is based upon probabilities. but the outcome is not random in the sense of "toss a coin".
i rememeber games where it said ... the russian referee saw a goal (although it wasn't) or red cards in minute 1, 3 penalties for the same team in one match, wrong weather previews with following special events, and of course the famous first cup round, where usually nothing works, the most random games in HT, or when i tried to train goalkeeper and engaged 8 goalkeeper trainer asisstants, and both were hurt in the same week (never before and never past this week even one was hurt), so i think there's a lot of random in Hattrick.
That sounds like non-random to me. Ever wonder how those injuries happened? You'd think there was part of the program that did it on purpose. If it was truly random then they shouldn't have been injured at all, no?
I play because comunity. I have 20 friends, from all over the world and i cant stop it :) HT play 1 milion people :D
It doesn't matter how many people play that game, It sucks.
P.S. I do play ht.

Part of the program seems to be random events - most matches are without them, but once started the whole match becomes filled of those events, so that every week lots of managers write in their local forums, how this game sucks. I've just read from a known player about 3 sucking matches within 10 days, which makes him think to quit HT after more than 3 years of playing.
Hattrick is crab compared to sokker and i stopped playing it as well, it more like monopoly than football managment game. Money rules Hattrick and that's it!
As money rules our footbal games in real life ;)
Anyways, i was also on HT and get bored because of this unbuyable players, and that you have to plan the progression of your players. i mean you now exactly how then when your player will up. I didn't like this system, in a way i prefer when its a "surprise" because its nice to have surprises.
Also, match viewing (or reading) was not good and boring. I was still playing when the youth part get upgrade and find it interesting imo.
But the fact of being on a lower division and having to wait like 2-3 season before beeing able to buy a very good player wasn't fitting my expectations of a game.
But i can also adress a lot of critics to sokker. And yes, "Sokker" is not a good marketing name, Hattrick is a good one. Even "Futchbol manager" (try to get the bresilian accent) would have been better ;)
