Not really, it does not belong to this topic, but just shortly:
In socialism there were lack of "luxury food" like bananas in winter. So people had to stand in long rows in cold weather to get them. But it did not look like those videos.

lol, bananas in winter? that was the problem?
basically all food was rationed, even toilet paper. there was a huge meat shortage, at one pointed they even started to mix the meat with paper...

indeed,but remember,almost all we eat in that era was healthy food,fresh fruits and vegetables,meat as natural and clean as can be.
Now,we are free ,but when we eat a tomato it tastes same as a paper toillet.
i don't support comunism but i think that capitalism is also a failure,we need a new world worder. :)

the most important achieve in capitalism is hot water..in communism used to heat water for a shower, for me if i have hot water , i have all

you can easily argue that people ate equally healthy food in capitalist countries back then
the reason is simple, the 'modern' food was not available back then, so there was no reason for it
if anything, communism was the system that cut costs wherever it could, so if it had been possible, they would happily feed you with even worse food than the modern one, if it was better money-wise for them to supply
as I mentioned before, during the meat shortage they were happy to mix it with paper, just to make 'more' of it, so you can only imagine...
