It's a very bad play on words: "feeling a little hoarse" means you are not feeling well (sore throat maybe?). This guy is "feeling a little horse". Because of the bad joke they do a Broadway style pun dance ;-)

There now, I managed to make a bad joke worse :-p

oh i know, feeling a little horsie is when you feel rough, i see it now ;)

I understood the joke, but I didn't know the expression 'feeling a little horse' and had to learn it from the joke. Therefore it was less funny to me.

I thought being hoarse means you got a soar throat and inflamed vocal cords. and usually you're not supposed to speak, which is probably a reason for sick leave.
