so what you're saying is that I should test the progression of a player in each skills?
2011-06-17 20:13:18
From my point of view, i really do not like this new layout not very clear to use...
2011-06-17 20:16:03
so in todays friendly match i select a team - i save my orders and i log on just now to check how my friendly went

IT ONLY SENT OUT 8 PLAYERS !!!! LOL , AND I WON VS 11 MEN --- 9-2 !!!
2011-06-17 20:18:11
sorry i misunderstood your message.

So he will pop faster in his prefered position no matter what. There is no need to change it?
2011-06-17 20:26:03
preferred position = main skills he naturally trains the fastest at. you want at least occasional 0.3 increases

original position = position he is labeled as to start out based on starting skills. this is not necessarily his preferred position, and can/will change if you find he trains quickly in skills primary to a different position than the original label
2011-06-17 20:33:56
so you need to test every position (and train every skills) to determine the prefered position of the player?

are players with only 0.2 ops to be sacked?
2011-06-17 20:50:08
Start by training pace and either playmaking, passing or tackling. Like this, you can quickly screen whether he has talent or not.

Pace is a main skill for every position except defmid, that's why the second stat to train needs to be one of the main stats of a defmid
2011-06-17 20:51:14
well once your squad fills up you need to be more selective about screening with his age/starting skill levels, its a waste of a spot/time to try out all positions on every player

i always pick pace as one of the first skills because if he doesnt have pace talent i dont want anything to do with him. pace is main for all positions but MID, but im not a big fan of playing slow MIDs anyways

@slammy and wesley

thanks a lot.Now I understand why most of my players have 0.1 op in one skill and 0.2 in another.

I hope I didn't sack any talented players :(

2011-06-17 21:27:05
Glad to help you

@slammy: you can always train pace after junior school
2011-06-17 21:43:50
i know, i just make sure anyone i plan to keep has the ability to train it quickly
2011-06-17 21:45:49
In the main team, main skills don't train faster than secondaries. That's why it can be useful to keep those defmids in youth
2011-06-17 22:04:04
im a few weeks from graduating my first youth so i havent had the chance to witness this yet. how exactly does talent translate over then? from what you just said, secondaries training rate go from a 0.1 rate to training just as fast as primaries?
2011-06-17 22:08:24
Correct. The difference between youth training and "adult" training (can't find a better word) lies in the fact that the "adults train every skill as fast (given the same stat level and the same coach level)

Im selling this Goalkeeper, he is in the transfer market already if anyone is interested:
