Because I'm in A-league without major tranfers on my side. I only train youth and let them grow into my first squad. The average age of this squad is around 22 atm

I have been spending a bit recently - But have an acceptable team for now which should get me promoted. Why are DMs so underpowered? Pace is a secondary stat and takes ages to get up, shouldn't this be changed?

In the main squad all skills are trained with the same speed, primary skill or not. Just depends on age, talent and skill of the coach.

I meant on youths, I didn't make that clear ^^

Hm, yeah, pace is in fact a primary skill for everyone.
So the best workaround is to make Defmids in Youth with PM and Passing and switch to pace and tackling in the main squad afterwards like I do. So my future Defenders are able to pass the ball halfway in time to the right teammate.^^
