JM Le Pen is an old fart, 86yo asshole. It's a shame FN putted him in the european list for this elections.
But, are we sure he told those words? And second... even if he said "ebola could solve immigration problem", why should we force the spin, suggesting he hopes ebola kills as africans as he can?
Indeed I found no video, no direct sources of his speach. But I found a note from JMLP, saying he quoted virus Ebola, such as a thermo-nuclear war, as a possible factor that can change the demographic evolution. No reference to immigrants, neither, of course, a "hope" to a higher spread of the virus.
I don't understand french very well, but this is what I understand from this:

Le bon sens ayant échappé à notre temps et l’exploitation médiatique de la « phrase » ayant pris le pas sur la vérité, il me semble cependant nécessaire de préciser le sens de ma référence, hier, au virus Ebola. L’intervention dont est extraite cette référence portait sur l’évolution démographique du monde et ses conséquences géostratégiques. J’ai alors fait, en effet, référence au virus Ebola, ainsi d’ailleurs qu’à un éventuel conflit nucléaire, lesquels viendraient évidemment modifier totalement les analyses en la matière. Il va sans dire que je ne souhaite en rien la propagation du virus Ebola, ce dernier n’ayant d’ailleurs que faire de mes souhaits, mais risque fort en revanche de trouver dans le mondialisme triomphant un terrible vecteur de diffusion.

It's not a coincidence, it's just another dot in an endless line...
I mean, OK, it's fun to play devil's advocate for a while, but the "misrepresentation story" about FN requires more than biased media, rather a fully-fledged conspiracy theory I'd would say. And a Dan Brown kind of conspiracy :P

I can say I speak French rather well (it's the second language of my country, after Dutch; Belgium has three official languages: Dutch, French and German), and that text is typical for people who like to adjust something they said earlier. Jean-Marie Le Pen is a racist. He was the leader of FN for decades, and he's the honorary leader today, whilst his daughter is the official leader. That says everything.
Edit: Is it that hard to say that Le Pen is a racist, and as such persons can be the leader of le Front National for decades, le Front National itself is racist?

By now, I can only say "we'll see".
The old JM Le Pen reminds me Umberto Bossi. They're both founders and honorary presidents of their parties, they're both arteriosclerotic, and in differnt ways they're both racist.
Furthermore, they both have been marginalized in their parties. I rather see them out once and for all, but imho the change in the parties' behaviour is sincere.

Well, the change of behaviour of their leaders doesn't mean the base of their electors are changed.
Imoh it means 2 things:
-there's a changing in action.
-the leaders are forced to stand between two position (the old and the new) to please them all.
So we'll assist to some contraddictory statement (often from different persons in the same party) in order not to lose consensus.

the real effect of euro currency in a northern country is to use crisis to impose the "reform" of welfare. It is an anti-democratic tool to destroy the state indipendence and useful to turn a social welfare in a private business.
It is useful to look at macoreconomic data to understand how private debts were USED to turn on a PUBLIC debt crisis:

What happened? Private sector crisis, private debts that get a public sector problem.
