I am raising my salary each few years and I dont need stupid state for that :-). I just ask it and market says that I deserve it ;-). Why this simple logical rules can not be everywhere. you can all say a lot about how market is not working good, but it is bullshit, market is working good, just state control is making it worse :-(

That is the goal. Is that the outcome? That's not a settled debate.

That really depends on the situation. All I'm saying is that there may be very good reasons for increasing it. In the US, increasing minimum wage might be a very good idea, but I'm less sure about Greece.
2015-01-26 22:21:37
let's start by actually respecting the existing minimum wage

nowadays a vast percentage of hirings are for part-time jobs for 400 euro or less while you end up working a full 8 hour or more shift
and you can't complain because "do you know how many unmployed are waiting to take your job?",plus it's very easy any more to fire an employee, compensation is too low,if you work part-time you don't even get comensation and if you quit you don't even get the unemployed benefit

so legislation that actually protects the workers would be my priority

Part-time job €400 makes sense if minimum wage is €750. I suspect this is not what you mean.
2015-01-26 22:31:05
that is like greeks are...they earn 400€ in part time jobs and slovaks earn 380€ in full time jobs, but slovaks dont take loans but had to lend money to greeks which are taking tons of loans...

is this really fair ?

lost in translation probably? :P

683,8 minimum wage is for 8 hour-work,5 days per week and a ~10% is withheld for incurance by the employer

the trick nowadays for employers is to hire someone for a part-time job (let's say 4 hours) for a fraction of the minimum wage
(about 350-400 euro,it's not standard,it's up to the employer)
the problem is that you end up working 8 or more hours for that 350-400 euro and you are blackmailed by the employers that they will fire you
Also there are many more tricks, you can name the employee as a "trainee",if he is U-25 you pay 300 euro for full 8 hour shift,if he is 25+ then 350 euro, both no incuranse
2015-01-26 22:42:18
come work in Greece man, let's party Europe's money together
2015-01-26 22:44:40
the problem is that you end up working 8 or more hours for that 350-400 euro
so you work as we work, but you cry... and... the people can go home, if he is employeed for 4 hours and have to work more and if boss fire him, you have work state agency protecting laws, so you are just weak to say "NO".
you want easy money for your nice life, that is all, so stop crying....
