First of all, he is comparing himself with you, not with your god. And secondly, he actually is smarter than your god. Charles would interfere so that humans like you wouldn't live very long ;-)

I know this since I am a relatively new convert to Catholic Church.

How long if I may ask, and what was the reason? What were you before your conversion, atheist or agnostic? (you don't have to answer if you don't want to, this is personal)

It's not a belief. You have a belief that your god exists. I lack that belief. I don't have another belief instead. Atheism is not a belief, it's a lack of belief.

It's because Catholic schools are selectionist. I would have got into one if I didn't turn them down. My religious friend didn't get in because he didn't max his sats. It amused us when we thrashed them in a big maths competition(and a bunch of private schools), came 3rd out of ~40, behind two of the biggest private schools in Sussex.

I was in a 'take them all in' school. Catholic school =/= better school. I could take a bunch of talented guitarists and let a friend have the rest. Who would claim to have the better students/teaching methods after a year?

In Flanders, it is known that catholic schools are better in education than government schools. However, they are not that catholic. We got a course 'religion', but it was more a course in meaning of life and 'being a good human', it was total crap in fact :p It is just a historic result that there are so many catholic schools here, although the population is not that catholic any more:
- about 42% does not have a religion
- about 50% considers himself catholic
- 72% of that 50% does not attend church
- less than 20% believes in a personal god (like the god of the Catholics, Jews, Muslims, ...)

we have one big and 4-6 small... but it is always just about right one or left more parties togheter...

in this case I would ask every old woman... say me name of 3 causes (political problematic stealing causes which was in national media, we have plenty of them, so 3 is easy) and if voters will not be able to name them he can not vote :-)

We can discuss about it, but I'll never agree with the further limitation of our now already too limited democracy. The beauty of democracy is that I don't have to agree. So I don't see what I should admit here.

no, I must go to work.... I can study about problem and decide to change it in election, but I need that everybody is force to study something about problem before he can vote... that is all !

now I understand that problems in Belgium (wallons and flanders) :-). it is black and white problem :-D
