Asunto: Football Strategy - Brand New Manager Game

2014-08-31 16:36:32
There are too many online managers
2014-09-07 01:19:16
The game has just started and it hasn't been promoted too actively yet.
2014-09-07 04:04:47
Look, it is online for over a year and officially launched 4 months ago.

sokker was never promoted and at the point that FS is, sokker already had 15-20 thousand users...
2014-09-07 17:15:10
How can you compare the beggining of Sokker with FS?? Whe Sokker was born there were few online football managers... today they are dozen

Exactly: that's how you compare them.
Then: plenty of potential users, few games
Now: plenty of games, few potential users

Check how many users play Ultimate Manager... and it is several years old. The market is mature at best, declining at worst.

Football Manager game series has ruined us.
2014-09-07 20:27:25
+ people prefer games on facebook / tablet apps

this game would be awesome if it was launched 4 years ago, like goal united.

but now? extremely risky, might result in loss of money and time spent to create it.
2014-09-07 20:28:05
no it didn't. FM had no impact on online managers.

Different times, different numbers, but you do have a point there. The game has to grow for it to have a future and right now it isn't growing that quickly.

Anyway those who want to join football strategy would do themselves a great pleasure if they'd join now as the first matches of the season are about to start next week. :)

fm had impact in a way of setting the standard high and most if not all browser based games are thus just too boring to play and people just dont get addicted.
2014-09-12 20:56:41
CM/FM already had higher standards before sokker was created
2014-09-12 21:55:44
Yes, I don't see them competing in the same segment of the market.
2014-09-13 09:36:04
You guys are just too old to understand the young generation of nowadays
2014-09-13 14:46:34
It's all about instant gratification nowadays. Having to wait 3 or 4 months to know how your season ended just isn't quick enough for them and the amount of days were nothing happens isn't acceptable to them. That's fine, after all there's Football Manager and there are surely online manager games were you play more matches a week than you do at football strategy but I can't imagine there aren't still quite a few people left that wouldn't mind having a relaxed game where you don't need to login every single day.

A few users on football strategy said the same. Obviously FS isn't their cup of tea nor is any other game with comparable progression pace.

I'd give fs a try but the training was waaaay too complicated for me at this point. Maybe 3-4 years ago I'd give it a try, but not today
2014-09-13 15:02:57
I don't know what you find to be complicated but maybe this helps. What I did was selecting the position to train the player at and I set the attribute focus to automatic. That way the most important attribute in that position will be trained. If the attribute is close to the player's potential you can always select another attribute manually. Surely it will take a bit of time to set this up but I set it up once and the only thing I do now regards to training is the occasional tweak and fortunately the same goes for everything else.
