Is it just me, or is this Japanese referee just terrible? It looks like Brasil paid him a lot of money to decide the match in their favour.

Brasil, a dissapointment. The match, a robbery. The referee, a shame (if not a bit richer... ?).

If it has already been "decided" that the host "has to" win the Cup any way, I guess I'm not to follow this WC for very long...

Ref killed the game with that pen, Brazil had some really weak players, Paulinho over Fernandinho? Fred? Worst Brazil team i have ever seen.

Good game by Neymar, he lead the charge while 0-1, and Hrvatska really has to thank the keeper they didn't score the 1-1 earlier.

Referee was pro Brazil, but nothing special. "Big" teams always get this kind of help until they face each other or they reach the final instances. Of course, refs still make mistake in those matches, but just out of the usual referee blindness :P
I recall Brazil-Australia in 2006 being much worse than this. Poor Viduka would have been better off by getting a red card: still not playing, abut at least he would stop getting punched :P

Not only the ref, also the cheater with his damn swalbe is to blame.

Football needs a Hawk-Eye system like tennis, field hockey, etc. With a system like that, it would have been a yellow card for a swalbe instead of a penalty + goal for Brazil.

EDIT: and a swalbe inside the box should be a red card, because defenders are also punished hard for fouls inside the box.

Yes, would be an idea to introduce a hawkeye for penalty decisions,but i suppose thats what the official behind the goal is there to help with, which he didnt

very unfair referee. Ist was never a penalty.

After (incorrect) penalty against Croatia, croatian player go more for attack and receife some counter attacks. With 1-1 Croatia (and no penalty) the did not have to "open" such the defence.

the referee did not whistle the "little fouls" of brasilian player, but nearly every foul of Croatia.
Very shame of referee.

This is world cup . . . and every team deserve justice.

I agree, maybe 2:1 for Brasil, but penalty baaaaah the referee was joked with us, nonexistent please :(((((
