if U pass around, especially in defence, team that U play against will become reckless (if they are trailing) so will try to get to the ball- now what happen? pirlo, motta, marchisio and parolo in few touches carried ball in final third and Immobile had two or three times actions against 2 defenders (once against cahill alone).

that is called smart play and not defensive, rather smart attacking.

It is ok, people in this forum will say that Italy is boring even if Italy wins 25-0 against Brazil...only because it is Italy

they were playing what they needed ;) I dont like this style of football same as I hate tiki taka, just that ;)
