Watching some replay it seems that goalkeeper save the ball on line...
Probably it's a Blatter present for Platini... He needs vote for its re-election...

It is ok, people in this forum will say that Italy is boring even if Italy wins 25-0 against Brazil...only because it is Italy
I remember that after Germany-Italy in 2006, someone said that Italy play it defensive... and that match was played very offensive with 4 forwarders on same time on field (Totti, DelPiero, Gilardino e Iaquinta) with a sort of 4-2-4...
During Euro 2010 Italy played a brilliant football but someona said that Italy play only with counterattacks and don't do possession and passing... (in few words Italy was not good because do not play tiki-taka)
Now we play with 5 iper-technical midfielders and we play a sort of tiki-taka with a lot of possesionand passing and we're becamed boring...
LOL!!!!!

some people just don't understand football and keep on repeating stereotypes that they heard some time ago to sound 'expert'...
even some Polish idiot match commentators kept saying at Euro 2012 that Italy is known for their catenaccio
lol, it's not 1990s anymore
Italy plays great football, Prandelli is one of the best coaches in Italy, imo nr 1 with Ancelotti...he made an amazing transformation of Azzurri, it is a realy pleasure to watch them...
so much talent in the midfield and offense, best team sine '06 and for some players [Balo, Insigne, Immobile, Cerci, Verratti] it is only the beginning...

naah...in the 90s the Catenaccio was already dead, have a look at the matches of USA94 or ITALIA90 :)

The problem that Italy has played "catenaccio" only with Trapattoni e Maldini (Cesare, tha coach, not Paolo the great defender).
But Trapattoni has played catenaccio everywhere... with Juventus, with BayernMonaco, with Eire...
It his is style, not an italian style...
I don't really undestand also the story of "italian = divers and cheaters". Italy is one of the most "fair play" team (as the game statistic shown). Prandelli has introduct the "ethic-code" that means that if you're a cheaters, a divers,or just take a simple red card (or too many yellow card), or you saya not kind word to press or other players : you're OUT of italian national team... (DeRossi, Balotelli and many others often was not called in national team just for this ethic-code)
PS: In 1990 we've played a very offensive play with Azeglio Vicini. We was very strong in defence but this not means that we've played a defensive soccer...

in 1994, USA world cup, the coach was Arrigo Sacchi...
I don't think I have to introduce the man (maybe only for some newzealander...)
however he made his time with the NT a personal crusade to break the stereotype "ITALY=CATENACCIO"... his 442 and his philosophy were aimed to build a new reputation for Italy...
20 years are gone, but we're still here on the same topics...

I'm really eager to see Belgium on the pitch.
I've heard that there are great expectations for Belgium this year!
I know many players, but don't know how they play together in the team...
what's your opinion?

moreover, this year Italy can't play catenaccio for the simple reason that there are not defenders good enough to play it well :)
Barzagli, Chiellini, Paletta and Bonucci are the central defenders... all pretty slow and with a bad acceleration... they're strong in positioning, good headers but that's it... all in all they're honest players, but lightyears distant from Cannavaro, Nesta and all the very good central defenders Italy got in the past

I think Belgium plays a little too slow. A lot of the players like the ball a bit too much.
Cant wait to see Belgium in action, i also have high expectation from them, i'd love to see them winning the cup.
