if Samaras wouldn't move, then there would be no contact
Samaras was the one who 'made' the contact, he kicked Sio...
Sio was between the ball and Samaras and he has every right to do so...
Did you have bets or something? :) I'm not a big fan of Greece but that was a clear penalty. Samaras was going for a shot but couldn't cause Sio's leg was on the way. One of the 100% clear penalties in this tournament and on a scoring chance.
About the Italian red card, the call wasn't so bad, but when you consider the whistling in the match before that and the importance of the game.. well, a decisive call for sure. Then case Suarez.. he is an awesome scorer but has some serious mental problems. Imo he was saved cause a) the ref didn't see it properly and b) Chiellini had dived a few times before that claiming he got hit in the face when he actually didn't. Didn't want either of the teams to go through to be honest, so I'm hoping for Colombia to butt-rape Uruguay. And ms Dracula will get a one game ban I assume.

Uruguay-england they could won if the referee did give that red (double yellow) to godin it was a different match. (and zo godin wouldn't probably score against italy probably !

Penalty can't be clearer than that. Samaras is in the movement of the shot an Sio takes the step that blocks Samaras' leg when the ball is not even close. Stupid action by Sio.. I wonder anyway what he was doing in the squad instead of strikers like Doumbia.
But Ivory Coast cannot only blame him.. in the last minute they failed a counter attack ridiculously and defended poorly - allowed several dangerous crosses and once they had to defend with 5 vs 7 or similar (can't remember if it was even before the goal).

Not sure if I thought of this, but it's the situation before the goal. Samaras completely unmarked, the guy in the back of the penalty area as well, only three CIV players in the box.. that's just embarrassing.

How many penalties do you think are intentional? What i see is a player trying to shoot and another one getting in his way (intentional or not, for me it doesn't matter) and stopping him. It really may have been unlucky from Sio's side, but as you saw, no one from Ivory Coast's player's argued about the penalty.
