Well, i think this view shows it better...

How many penalties do you think are intentional? What i see is a player trying to shoot and another one getting in his way (intentional or not, for me it doesn't matter) and stopping him. It really may have been unlucky from Sio's side, but as you saw, no one from Ivory Coast's player's argued about the penalty.

yes, from this angle I fully agree that it is a penalty:)

It doesn't matter for the rules either :P
I think that image clears my doubts.

I am one of these people who think it wasn`t a penalty. Sio was actually just standing behind Samaras, he didn`t made the contact. Samaras just hit Sio´s foot and fell down. If some people think it was a penalty then football players have a new trick in their sleeve to finagle a penalty. Of course ref has to make a decision less than a second, so not a surprise he saw a foul.
Yesterday Greece played very well, but overall you didn`t deserve the promotion. In the first 2 games you sucked donkey balls, Ivory Coast didn´t. But that´s my opinion and we can keep arguing...

actually Ivory Coast was weak in all games. only individualities, no teamplay.
and on Richangelo's replay you can see that Sio wasn't standing, he was running towards Samaras and stretched his leg forward to 'block' Samaras' leg...
I dont think he realized that Samaras will shoot, he was just running there, he clearly didnt have the intention to foul him, but in the heat of the game, the ref took the best decision, its not that controversial, its just i've seen much clearer situations where the ref didnt blow. Anyways, its the most boring group yet, thank God its over.
If Suarez did what he did he deserves to be punished. But then you need to raise the amount of players for each team by 20.
What about Balanta using his elbow against Okazaki. Does he deserves to be punished?
If this starts this way then it will be a which hunt and every single situation on the field.
This is football not chess, and Italy plays it good.

Please, Suarez is crazy, he bites people. Be realistic!
Thank God Suarez doesnt play chess, imagine how the board would look after he'd bite some chunks out of it :)
There's nothing to "start this way". Suárez already got long suspensions for biting people. And in any case, the consequence of banning aggressors is not people being banned all the time, but rather simply fewer aggressors.
Suárez, if nothing else, was shamefully irresponsible: he didn't get any in'match advantage for that, only the risk of a red card, and now you'll have to manage without him from the next match onwards (good luck with that...).
Before Italians or anyone else, the first people that should be mad at Suárez are Uruguayans. Very stupid way to let the team down.

I'm not saying that Suarez should be punished if an agression is proven. However, the correct thing to do is check ALL the games after finishing. If you don't do that then you are punish someone for who he is.
Balanta's elbow against Japanese, Neymar's elbow on first game and so on. Besides the previous suspensions can't be used against him becuase you will be punishing him for something that he was already punished. That is jurisprudence.

omg stop, elbows are part of game, biting like crybaby Suarez isnt...
Suarez is crazy and should get a drastic suspension because it his 3rd time he does it i think and FIFA should be drastic about it... for me at least 15-20 games... but still let's not exagerate though... they are some players who have seriously injured others players (for minimum 6 months) and didn't get to many punishment for that... in important matches some players are very tough and often cross the line ... but still between a bite and 6 months injured i prefer the 1st... maybe with a help of a psychologist he can be helped... between 2 players : 1 like Suarez who is crazy but has enormous desire and ambition to win and play well and get easily angry (and that's probably one of the reasons he bites ) and a player like Balotelli who is sleeping on the field for 80 min and he doesn't show any emotion no matter if he's team is losing or winning i prefer the 1st...
if an agression is proven
are you blind?
Neymar's elbow on first game and so on
referee saw it and made a decision.
referee did not see what Suarez did. that's the difference.

you never heard of something that is called recidivism?

I also like Suarez as a player and prefer him over Balotelli, who is overrated
but it doesn't mean that Suarez shouldn't be punished accordingly to what he did...for the 3rd time
