This was seriously competing with Nigeria - Iran for the most boring match of the tournament.

van Persie was to tired to go on and he wasn't able to be the scoring striker anymore, van Gaak wanted to win the match before penalties so he brought Huntelaar in the hope to score a goal.
but it was a stupid idea from a psychological point of view.
Now the Argentina players knew he could not bring on Krul anymore. So they knew they could take it to penalties against a GK who is not trusted on this task by his own coach ...
Should be interesting to see if Argentina can kill the attacks of Germany as they did with Belgium (about 2 chances) and Netherlands (something like 2 chances as well).

i wonder why did van gaal played with van persie that match? it was obvious that he was out from the first eleven. that happens when you only play names, not players. i think he insisted to play with the same group, evebn if he knew that some of them were not fitted/shaped to face the argentine team(blind, martins indy, van persie - all of them too slow, de jong - injured)
