Prince Ali to challenge Sepp Blatter for Fifa presidency
Fifa vice-president Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein will challenge incumbent Sepp Blatter for the leadership of world football's governing body.
The Jordanian Prince, 39, will stand as a candidate at Fifa's presidential election on 29 May, where Blatter, 78, will seek a fifth term of office.
Prince Ali said: "It is time to shift the focus away from administrative controversy and back to sport.
"The headlines should be about football, not about Fifa."

Who is Prince Ali?
Prince Ali became president of Jordanian football in 1999 before being elected as the Asian Football Confederation's Fifa vice-president in 2011. He has successfully championed the lifting of Fifa's ban on the hijab in women's football and was also one of a number of officials who called for the publication of Michael Garcia's report into allegations of corruption surrounding the 2018 and 2022 World Cup bids. The son of the late King Hussein and the late Queen Alia, who died in a helicopter crash in 1977, he attended Sandhurst military academy before joining his country's armed forces. He is the brother-in-law of leading racehorse owner Sheikh Mohammed, the ruler of Dubai.
I hope Blatter will be gone asap!

A very good thing about this Prince Ali is, he called for the publication of Michael Garcia's report into allegations of corruption. That's the kind of people FIFA needs. Hopefully he is also much more progressive when it comes implementing more technology to reduce ref mistakes and improve fair play.

btw...we have here new year and after 1.1.2015 we can say that US forces took out from Afghanistan for ever. The main army is out, but there is still about 13k soldiers. This last force should go home this year and there should left just about 5k soldier at the end of 2015.
It was maybe 13 y. long war there which started to get down power of taliban. Taliban is still there and have still strong power, sad fact.
I dont think that history can say that US won that war (by me, they lose the war same as russia lose it and others), but we will see. Anyway, what is your opinion on war there, did US win it, is the situation now better there ?
(I am not going post here some links about current power of taliban or about current produce of drugs there, I hope people can find relevant information themselves. But I will put here one article which can maybe say a lot about all this war.

Fifa presidency: Champagne to battle Prince Ali & Sepp Blatter
Jerome Champagne will still contest Fifa's presidency despite Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein announcing he will also run to depose Sepp Blatter.
Champagne, 56, announced his candidacy in January 2014 but the involvement of current vice-president Prince Ali, 39, will mean a three-way split in votes.
Asked if he will step down, he said: "Of course not, I'm the only candidate to present a detailed programme."
The former French diplomat called on Prince Ali to explain his plans.
"We need to know what is his programme beyond thundering slogans without any concrete explanations," added Champagne, who joined Fifa after the 1998 World Cup and left in 2010.

I wonder if a three-way split in votes is a good or bad thing to get ride of Blatter.

European football leaders back Jordan prince to challenge Sepp Blatter for FIFA presidency
Amman: European football leaders on Tuesday backed the move by FIFA vice president Prince Ali bin Al Hussein to challenge Sepp Blatter for the presidency of football`s scandal-tainted world body.
The 39-year-old Jordanian royal said he would seek to end "controversy" when he tries to stop Blatter securing a fifth term in the FIFA election on May 29.
Prince Ali is an ally of UEFA president Michel Platini, an outspoken critic of Blatter`s move to extend his rule.
The prince is certain to get nearly all the 54 European votes in the election, but will face a tough battle to get the 105 votes needed from FIFA`s 209 member federations.

Well, after deleted posts, and the threats against me in a private message, my view about west society, has little changed. I guess, that many peoples from west Europe are normal, but they are harassed, intimidated, by Big Brother. They see a threat, by they can't speak about that.
This is the same situation as in USSR. One undisputed "Truth" as a source of news and NKWD squads.
So, welcome in 1984. Good luck:).

It will be difficult, Blatter is powerful.
Most of the UEFA votes will go to Prince Ali, and maybe also many from the AFC as he was elected Fifa vice-president for AFC in the past? And what about the other football associations, who will they support? I can't find info who most likely will support Blatter, Ali or Champagne.
