Ok fellows, i rest my case. Losing 100m in 11 years transfers is zero for a top-team in Premier League. Imho Wenger is not overrated at all, he is an old-school manager who also cares about money.
As for Manchester United. They have spent 140m euro last season
naaah... 75 for Di Maria, 37.5 for Shaw, 36 for Herrera, 20 for Rojo, 18 for Blind, 10 for Falcao are almost 200 (icluding some youth player over 200)
but they also SOLD for over 100m euro
almost 50 not almost 100! Official -146mln!
you're talking about different season. I meant 15/16.
same lame story every year
it's the story told by Wenger, so if you're unhappy with it, please contact mr Arsene :-)

You don't even need to compare with other teams: just look at how much he actually spends and who he signs with that money. And, by the way, the whole budget matters, because it's not just a matter of paying transfer fees but also wages. Whether it's a lot or a little, he doesn't seem to make very wise choices as a manager. The comparison with Atlético, playing 2 Champions League finals and winning 1 league in 3 years is appalling. The cherry on top is that Wenger always showed a French bias in hiring, as if we was hoping for a new Henry or something, and then Griezmann comes along and he missed him :P
I think is very hard to defend Wenger as a manager. Now, what about as a coach? Hardly any better. Ever since the stars from the 90s left the team, Arsenal plays like a soulless Barcelona wannabe without really matching the quality nor the intensity. Moreover, he's a proud member of the "offensive" (?) whiners who lose a match and rant at the opponents for... defending well ("too much", they would say, as if it was the opponents' job to let them score easily).
In any case, it would be ironic to have him as French NT coach, since he has spoken openly against NT football in many occasions, claiming "NT football is dead", that only clubs matter, and whining a lot about players being called to their national teams.

Best part about Arsenal fans is that they criticise Arsene and Arsenal all the time among themselves and are constantly dissatisfied.
Yet, the moment some from outside says something bad about their team or coach, they suddenly start to defend them :D

muah... you have no idea about this club! If you have 60'000 fans every game you'll always find some who think different and if you see 5 banners with "spend some fucking money" you think that this is the meaning of all Arsenal fans? Titles is not everything for a fan! Of course not everything is perfect. For example ticket prices are really high. BUT, every pound that this club invests in players or something else, is earned! It's not like Barca or Real who have outstanding debs of 500mln EUR and are still paying so much that other clubs don't want to pay it or like City and Chelsea where the owners pay it of some dubious ways to cheat the financial fairplay rule.
But even without watching to the others, Arsenal has an own stadium for 530mln EUR which is paid. I'm also happy with the squad. Who is on the market and could improve the squad? How ever, i'm happy the club is running!

not in general but the highest priced single matchday ticket! On the other hand you can buy a ticket for only £27 (Chelsea 52.-, City 42.-). But of course ticket prices are a problem for the fans. I read that Arsenal has the highest income of a single match in Europe. They get more than Real an Barca even their stadium is much bigger. But every game is sold out so why reducing prices -.-

Well, too bad. Ronaldo won't get his head through any door now... :-P
Poor game from Portugal, poor european championship from Portugal too...
But hey, life goes on. Maybe the next time the winner will be actually the best, and not a team who could only win one game after 90 minutes......

Who is the best? The team that can't score in 90 minutes or the team that can't score in 120?
The best always wins unless the referee invents a red card or a penalty. I find almost hilarious that Portugal, of all teams, won this tournament, but if they are so bad, how come not a single team defeated them in 90 nor 120 minutes?
They may have been poor throughout the tournament, but if everyone is blind, one eye is enough...

Who's the best? Definitly not Portugal, except in the simulation category I suppose...
The FIFA has to change something, I hate simulation over all the bad things in football. That's why Ive been getting less and less interested in that sport. There have been quite a few scenes that made me pretty angry, a great deal in the overtime (most of them from Portugal's players...).
I prefer rugby, the player are fair there at least... No simulation and full respect of the referee (no reclamations from the players). :-P
