A Single Man wins my Best Film of the Year award. Having said that, I've still not seen Inception, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, Winters Bone, Catfish, Easy A, Kick-Ass, Toy Story 3, Four Lions or The Road.

Inception was a disappointment to me....maybe because everyone was saying omg omg the best movie ever, you have to watch very carefully or you'll miss something etc etc etc......And when I saw the movie I thought it wasn't the best movie ever, in fact far far from it, and it wasn't that hard to understand.....Shutter island was better for me
Yes generally shutter island beat me, it was better than Inception ;)
A lot of these movies I still have to see.
I've recently watched 'The secret in their eyes' or 'El secreto de sus ojos' if you speak Spanish. IMDB lists it in 2009 but I think it got more attention in 2010. That would be in my top 5 for the last year.

my list with two first places... cant decide which one i like more
1st place - The Book Of Eli (my favourite genre)
1st place - The Experiment (love how it analyses human behaviour)
3rd place - Shutter Island (very well built, like the atmosphere, nice idea as well)
4th place - Inception (mainly because i had similar film idea long time ago, and mine was better, much more complicated dream related drama)
5th place - Four Lions (one of comedies that sometimes actually make you laugh, and a quite possible life story too)

Monsters (extremely low budget film, however it is a masterpiece)
