Electrical engineers typically possess an academic degree with a major in electrical engineering. When it takes five years you should be having a masters degree.
It is not like that in our countries, well, at least in Colombia our senior degree takes 5 years. It is like a better bachelor but not a master degree.
I am finishing my undergraduate program, so I will be an Engineer this year (I have been studying for almost 5 years). If I want to (or could) have a Master degree like M. Sc. or M. Eng. I ought to spend another 2 years.
