I don't have the full context, I think it means:
tag of the sprayer

i had to translate the text about graffiti

and there was this sentence :

Man kann Graffiti als Kunst der Strasse oder einfach als Schmierereien betrachten. Zu den Letzten zaehlen vor allem die "Tags" (Namenszeichen des Spruehers), die schnell und illegal entstehen.
