"How was your trip?" or "What was your trip?"

Could anyone tell me which one is correct and when you use "what" and when "how"?
2010-01-19 22:33:55
Not native speaker, but I'd go for
What was your trip like?
How was your trip?
2010-01-19 22:43:58
I also thought so.. then "what ... like" is mostly the same what "how" , isn't it?

Sorry for giving some explanations in Polish, but it'll be easier to comprehend:

How was your trip - Jak było na wycieczce?

What was your trip like - Jak wyglądała twoja wycieczka?

These two questions are, however, more similar to each other than to this version: "What was your trip"

your e.g. friend and you talk about their trip and then your friend's question follows: "What was your trip?" - they want to know where you went; "What was your trip?" might imply that there had been choice.

You: Where did you go on your school trip?
Your friend: We went to Berlin. And what was your trip?
You: Oh, we went to London.

I've got an offer for 48m but I think it's too little as yet. If there were five of such offers I could list him.
