But many times this is a luck factor.
The indication of position at least will put this analysis in only the skills and not the positions. Because this looking for is very boring.

I think it is far from boring. Junior matches is way more interesting as just some list with skills going up each week.
And no it isn't just luck. You can learn to recognize the skills by watching junior matches and see the performances of players on the pitch. The good and bad things gives you clear hints about the skills or lack of skills.

I wonder what is the % of users that actual do that. I definitely don't... those games as so boring.
And in regards to giving you "hints"... in RL you can see without a doubt if a young player has speed, technique, passing etc... you don't have to watch a birds-eye-view match to get "hints" of wether he is fast or not.
Regardless, even that hint doesn't give you any real approximation of what skills he will end up with.
To each its own... I personally don't like the constant up and down in skills.. maybe once or twice in the beginning... but there are way too many of them that keep going up and down after 15 weeks and they barely end up going up at all. That is not realistic either. You can tell a good youth player from another, that is why there are scouts in RL.
It should be a little more simple... I find it so complex that its not worth even keeping track of.. if you get a good one you do and if you don't you don't.
I only keep track of overall performance and if its too low I switch him to another position... but even if he plays better at ATT then DEF.. that doesn't reflect on the skill distribution later on when he gets out of youth school... again, another random.
I rather have it be like it was before.. with pops every 3 or 4 weeks... maybe a drop somewhere... you can't be totally accurate... but at least you could really approximate which are worth keeping and which are not.

That's a choice. Those who look for skills more carefully will know more about the skills. So to do it will only give you more data to keep or reject juniors.
The hints are skills you can see yourself during matches. You can see if junior players are terribly slow, can't pass, can't score, etc. And no, you don't really know what skills they will have till you promote them, but with 30+ ratings at positions you know you had the right position.
And for the realistic part, it is a game and Sokker has this system. Other games have other unrealistic junior schools ;)

Its important to note however... that with 30+ ratings at a position, which tells you he might be in the right position, that still does NOT guarantee that he will come out with a skills distribution that relates to that position.

You say that silly thing of observation of the skills, but never win a "Eredivisie (jeugd)" in your country.
I win and dont see this things and I think thats boring BECAUSE IS A LUCK FACTOR.
