Btw, I've got one lad who popped after 1 week and hasn't popped now for 9 weeks. He is now good 16, should I just kick him or keep him.
2006-04-22 20:07:36
keep him, he will probably pop two more time and a VG pull as a keeper can get you a lot of money, especially as it will eb at the start of teh next season
2006-04-22 20:33:08
Boot him...we'll all be expecting him now and he won't be sellable :)
2006-04-22 20:36:37
Probably bring in more than the cost of keeping him.
There'll always be a 4th div Pole with no idea how poorly talented he is!

what is the lowest level junior it is worth keeping i think all the one i got today are terrible but as i am just starting out i am not sure if it is worth keeping them
2006-04-22 20:58:46
ive got rid of all my junior, just dont think it pays. some it does but some it dont.only had 1 last season excellent sold for 8k would of only of had 2 this season both excellent all the rest were long termers .so im saving the money instead....say u have 30 juniors =18k then your junior coach say 10k that 28k aweek..but some people do make a profit out of it ,but dont no how many....

Well, I'm in the prem with a team of ten youth teamers and start up players. I bought one striker for 40k.
2006-04-22 21:40:22
I've made £700k out of my youth team, and 5 of my squad came through as youths. That's taking into account the £ for the spaces and for the coach's wages.

The more players in the youth squad, the more cost efficient, as you pay less per player for the coach's wage. When you start up it's tough for 20 weeks or so - after that you have a steady drip of sales and it more than pays for itself.
2006-04-22 21:46:10
I never keep anything less than poor, and only those if they pop first week.
After that I keep those who will reach about very good.

And to answer your question:

I wouldn't keep juniors who you expect to get below solid level. Below solid they just don't pay for themselves. At solid they could pay for themselves on the sale if you're lucky, and on the % of the sale on future sales before they turn 24 if not.

To work it out if a pler pops:

In 3.5 - 5 weeks he's pretty talented
6 - 8 is average
Above 8 is a bit naff

But still, if a player is untalented, keep him if he's going to be solid or above when he's ready, as the person who buys him doesn't know he isn't talented ;)

So if you have a player who is poor 27

If he pops every 4 weeks he could end up being very good (+3/4), or even higher if his first pop is after a week or so.

If he pops every 7 weeks he could end up being adequate (+6/7)

In this case of this player, I would keep him, if he didn't pop in the first 5 weeks I'd sack him as it would be clear he wouldn't reach solid.

A player like adequate 30 is a clear winner, keep them whatever the talent

unsatisfactory 10 for example, I'd boot.

I'd boot average 6, unsatisfactory 20 etc as they wouldn't be solid when ready

If he pops every

*Why fire the weak at least? *

It's the ones that they reject that make John Wests Salmon the best.

My advice is to wait until thursday and see if any pop. After thursday, sack any you still don't like. Other people would tell you to sack all of them straight away, some may suggest to keep the weak.
If you can't get on between thursday and saturday, I'd suggest keeping the weak as a compromise.
