i know right... the mentality of some people. lol (love you really Mr. forest)

ok guys know its late, but bin trying to get more skills on some of our younger players. we have a game tomorrow against the Czech republic in a U20/U21(with 1 or less caps) game. This is so we should both be playing strongish squads, without risking any of our star players for the world cup. As always please leave your predictions for the match, and more information has been put in the England Association. (for the lucky people who get to see it)

2:1 win for England's U21. and i feel we should have scored more with 4x there shots and hitting the post twice in the first half, and missing a penalty.

Yup :) anyway, another good quality side with France next week in our last game before the WC, so wanting to keep the winning streak going ;)

A nice win for both sides this week.

Japan met us with a pressing tactic, well organised aswell. We were the better team but struggled to put away the chances we got. We kept a clean sheet so Workmans goal after the cross from Sear was enough today. Epic moment at 61st minute when Lucy headed the ball past the keeper and into the box. Workman the only one in there, led the ball to about the penalty spot before firing wide with the keeper still outside the box. Strange to see Workman and Lucy so easily run up and tacked by the japanese defenders when they seemed to have 4-5 yards head start. Well, three points in the bag home to England.

gtz lorre nice stuff ...btw just as an off topic how many ppl in England have also a youth academy ...it seems there is a shortage of English players on TL... not a lot of youth upcoming...this will end up a big problem.

Hard to say, difficult to make an estimate. A guess would be 60-80 youth academies out of around 350 users. Hard for new teams to afford youth academies and quite difficult to run them effectively. But it seems the current u21 NT has a lot of talent, I have also seen a lot of promising 22-23 yo when scouting. When you take responsibility and travel around the country preaching the importance of effective youth squads and giving advice on how to run them, the future will be bright as the sun (^_^)

I have always kept a youth school open and luckily I have had the odd good junior ..... not often enough though :-(

I have always run a youth team and splashed a wad in it. However ever since I accidentally sacked an unearthly 18yo the gods hAve sent me plop...

I wish more people would run youth schools - there hasn't been anybody on the transfer list for ages that I'd buy, either in terms of talented junior or top class senior. Not entirely true, there was one guy but I missed his deadline..

I'm resorting to training comparative junk from my youth school rather than buying foreign players.. And I have no great prospects coming in the forseeable future either.

Been training away, just nothing of value to sell!

Next up for England is a crucial qualifier vs Israel. It will be another nailbiting game, if we can deal with their top-class strikers we can come away with the three points. Sometime during friday the squad will be posted at the National association along with some words.
