Talent dependent but he's near average in 4 of the 5 defender skills.
Should rise quickly, especially at that age. The problem you'd have though is needing to get him into your first team for 23 minutes, because he's an absolute liability right now.
I'm going to have a (good) problem in 4 weeks, as I've only got 1 training spot available.

Fairly average because of his age. By the time his Pace is respectable you're racing to sort out everything else.

I really don't understand how they thought this pace skill in this game. You're right, a player like this is going to be wasted, it will take ages to improve his pace and all the good bits he's got on the other skills will be wasted. By the age of 21 he might get to excellent pace (with a lot of focused training) and with a bit of luck, one of the skills on the right side would get to very good. Useless. Even in the most optimistically described scenario.

Looking around at some players on sale, I wish I could get it through to the Hattrick trainers about basic essential training.
Any player you buy has a ceiling, dependent on talent. It might be 20 sumskill points, might be 40, but there's always a limit. So with that in mind, why do people insist on dumping all their points onto main skills?
"Oh you've got an Unearthly Defender? That's nice, how do you think he'll do with Weak Pace?"
You have to sort the fundamentals first otherwise they're useless. After that the ceiling is how high you can get the main skills in the time remaining. It's why I always say that if you've got an outfield player to train, deal with the pace and tech first.

Sturrock the latest shiny looking confirmed talent.

Keep an eye on Sinclair. He's low level but significant talent and only 16.

Yeah, he joined as a hopeless junior 6 weeks ago, so talent still to be confirmed i think.
Just to say, i have never sold one of own juniors that's come out decent and talented before, fresh from the school. I've always trained them myself, even in my 'golden era'.
But, there is every chance i'll have to sell at least one of Dunn, Martin, Sturrock, Sutton...i'm currently -£33k...
