I haven't had any decent ones for a while either, today was a 16 yr old but an unsatisfactory 27 weeks. Top ability according to the press room of very good.

Yeah, mines also been rubbish for the past few weeks...
Today's best offering:
Reece Feemster 18 yo - 5 (average) - outfield 26 - 12 (outstanding)
Not good enough for my junior side, too old. Sack!!

Oh man... that would be quite unlucky
but do you have a youth coach? I assume you might not since you have 0 youths - without a youth coach you will always see "tragic" because there is no one to make the assessment
You possibly fired a very promising youth in Wheatley

It's not top ability, it's more of average possible ability
It just divides number of weeks by 4 and then adds that to starting level (which also can be +/- 2]
It's better to judge youths by assuming max 3 talent and then if it turns out the talent is worse - to the bins

Thats usually what I do tbh but age always plays a part in my decision too.
Carter Gascoigne, age: 18
club: Rock Bottom, country: England
value : 56 700 £
wage: 615 £
very good [9] form
tragic [0] tactical discipline
height: 166 cm, weight: 68.3 kg, BMI: 24.79
average [5] stamina good [7] keeper
poor [3] pace tragic [0] defender
tragic [0] technique tragic [0] playmaker
very good [9] passing tragic [0] striker
Not the greatest, but as he's home grown he's going to be trained, mostly so I can ship my 28yo GK out.

@ Chuck, why have you no 16yo juniors in your Junior School? I'd keep most, and why have you got so many 19yo's? & you only have 3 x 17yo's, I have tonnes of them, I have no 18yo's though, & 1 x 19yo, most of mine are crap now though, 2 or 3 exceptions:
Nile Chambers 16 adequate [6] outfield 7 [Musk was a 3 week old 17yo Very Good]
Thomas Randall 17 very good [9] outfield 15
Reeves Lewis 16 average [5] outfield 34
Have you been sacking potentially decent 16yo's, as you'd have more 17yo's , either that or your seriously unlucky.
You know a 3 or 4 level 16yo with say 20+ weeks can be decent as they can pop very fast, say every 2 weeks at least whilst 16 and sometimes 17yo.

it doesn't work that way, the age has no impact on pops in youth school and max talent is over 3.0 so nobody can jump "every 2 weeks"

Alright BR...
I've only kept players who have had potential. I try keeping my side small but its probably a little on the large size now. Need to trim..
I've not had too many 16yos come through recently. I had quite a few last season, who I kept and I'm still training.
This season has been a little slow. Not too much to shout about. Last season was much better.
I don't have too players coming through to get excited about, at the moment.

Being in there 1 or 2 seasons longer has no impact, if he's talented of course it does
Absolutely not, you're misleading him
1. there's no difference between ages, the talent in YS is always stable, 16 and 20 have the same one
2. it's impossible to have an actual pop after 2 weeks in YS
best possible talent is 3.0, some years ago the talent in YS was 100% correct [no randomness from coach assessment like now where the level goes up and down] and there were no pops after 2, lowest possible was 3
