Yes must not grumble. I have been training goalies for years though, fancy a change!
Not enough money in it to keep in the prem though.

Fair enough, training keepers may be easier to process in the cup though?
Well depends where they are on the training program but if it was an advantage I would have won the cup by now...
I seem to remember a chap called Phil who had so much cash in the bank he made Gibbage (as he was then jealous), he was very successful and I think he trained Pace so he could spread the pace around the two teams.
Gibby/metal man trained defenders, that seemed to work well as you can train a load of them. I think I am basing my thinking on the dearest players in the game are typically triple divine plus strikers. I reckon Jotun have a ton of cash in the bank training strikers.
It takes 4-5 seasons to train a keeper who is worth 4 million - 5 million max. So say in 4 seasons you can train 8 - 10 million worth of Keepers well one triple divine striker costs at least 6 million normally 7.5 million.
I also seem to remember the first England triple divine keeper Ahmed (?) took an age to train passing on.
Might be wrong with my thinking, you have spent far longer in the Prem than I have. Just want to try something different for a season or 10!

There is also training implications as you spend an awful lot of money on trainers and you only have two for your troubles so the training cost seems quite high too.
I think phil had something like 50-60m in the bank whilst also having a competitive team. Technically he had the correct strategy for the game, buy buying players converting them to first teamers and selling them at the point they are at optimum value (25 probably for a highly trained player). He didn't win as many trophies as he could have done though, as he didn't always have the best set of players.
One of the reasons I train strikers now rather than defenders, is they certainly attract a bit of a premium. Although midfielder prices are sky high at present, but problem there is so are the trainees so I'm not sure how much profit is in them. I've picked up a good few striker trainees for 200k or so, think they are worth a fair chunk more. Would be a lot more work to do the same on a midfielder.

Have to say I do agree with you there! I must say I find training midfielders quite hard work!

You can train 10 mids aswell .....
Personally I think Mids are best to train as they can get more money than defenders, but although you can only train 6 strikers they do fetch much more money than mids and defenders, talking 9 to 10 mill a striker if he's proper good.

I enjoyed training strikers more than mids tbh.......I have never trained GK or Defenders. I have trained Pace......but very restrictive too.
