Our WC group is incredibly hard.
We'll have to be on our game if we want to progress.
I'm sure whoever is manager will give it a good go though.

I thought you'd gone American there and this was going to be a post on bodily functions!

We've started our WC campaign against Turkey the 9th ranked country in the World and who were runners-up in the last WC so a real toughie to start with.

Well, we've certainly given ourselves a chance as we've started with a 2-1 win and 3pts to sit top of the group for the time being :-)

Given we are the lowest ranked country in our group, we needed some kind of positive result in our first game. So all in all, I couldn't be happier :-)

Today we played the no.7 in the world and only lost narrowly 3-2. However, we outshot them 13-8 so we were a touch unlucky especially with their first goal which bounced up off the crossbar.

We now have to win our last game against Finland to guarantee qualification.
A draw would mean that we would need Bulgaria to beat Turkey.
A loss and we're out.

That's how important beating Turkey in Round 1 were, it gave us 2 bites at the cherry.

Turkey and Cherry... must be Christmas. Feeling Hungary.

You better go to Iceland's then ;-)

Get your party hats on as we've qualified for the knock out stages of the world cup after being the lowest ranked of the 4 countries in our WC group :-)

The lads showed great resilience today after being 2-0 down to Finland and coming back to equalise with the last kick of the game. In truth, Finland deserved to win today so we very much rode our luck but I don't feel we deserved to lose to Bulgaria last week.

Fingers crossed we get a decent draw for next week.

We knew you could do it. Well done.
