A pop on defense for a keeper is a lesser pop than stamina, you had no pop's is what I'd of wrote, the worst week I've ever heard since this thread was started.

10 wth, you have a younger team than ever before now then?

Advanced training 8 players are 21 or younger. So they aren't that old. 2 24yos in there still getting AT but next season be their last.

My AT players are all 21 or younger...
2x17yo
4x18
2x19
1x20
1x21
The 21 year old is Mac Keane, who I bought from some dodgy old side! ;)
I just don't want to be training older players, who take too long to improve.
I might be completely wrong and making mistakes with my training. Time will tell..

It's the training in the later years that makes a difference in the prem. An ideal team would have trainees all same age, but never quite works out like that.

I'm so far off the prem at the moment, I haven't given it a thought. It'd a different world up there :)
I'd have to really change my training and most likely players to compete in the prem, but that's so far away I don't need to worry!
I'm just hoping my youngsters are strong enough in the next 2-3 seasons, to make me a bit more competitive.

With the new training system it's a viable idea to start with 10 trainees [no GK] at age of 16-17 and try to build a team on them in x seasons
The downsides:
a. you have to use them in friendly + at least 25min in league (min. 96% training) and at 16-19 they're sh**
b. you have to invest quite heavily in them and then wait x seasons for results
Although I think it's the best way to move forward if there is enough money to invest, especially if someone plays in a lower/weaker league. And obviously since the training slots are taken by youths, then the first team should be as good and as cheap as possible, so in one word... old.

Yep, that makes sense.
My problem is I have a lot of money tied up in my best players, who are aged between 25-27 yo. They aren't getting trained, just rely on random pops (not ideal). These players will just devalue over time. I'm probably best having 30-32 yos, who cost less and I won't lose so much money. I just have an issue owning 30+yo players that drop in skills and still lose money. I think this is an issue I need to deal with and accept that 30+ yos can still serve a purpose in the game!
I'm still focused on training youthful players and try to give them 99-100% training. I hope it works out for my side!

I prefer having 2 or 3 of each age say 23-24-25-26 ,this way only 2 or 3 to swap out every season when they are say 28-31yo, it would be hard otherwise, to buy an entire team, alternatively start all over like I always did.

Arguable the strongest side ever made, The Terminators I think all players were the same age (or within 1 year). Wouldn't have fully trained each one though.

They lasted a fair amount of time. Longer than 1-2 seasons.

6 pops. 2 irrelevant striker pops, 1 stamina so only 3 useful ones in that.
