Chris Cole is getting there too, I was gutted to pull him out of the academy just after I bought two GKs. At least he's getting the proper training.

I had a junior school on two occasions but when I got relegated to league III it cost too much. As you know, a new youth school requires lots of investment before you see any return and the best way to maximise the talent of the players you have is to have a great coaching staff so my four already cost 1360k per season and just to have a brilliant coach for the juniors is possibly an extra 288k, much more than that in the first season as you have to pay to get one as well.. Its a lot when ticket sales this season will be about 1800k.
Not so hard for the bigger clubs though.
Selling the great juniors was very painful but the only way to keep afloat when we got relegated. but then if you keep them a lot of them lose form in their mid twenties and thiei value plummets as well as their usefulness to the club.
In my view junior schools are for big clubs with income to match.
It is true that it is much better now that you have ten slots to train people from different positions so I might have another go; but I will need a big cash cushion first because once I invest in a junior school my profit margin will be close to zero and if I get relegated again (accidents do happen) then I would instantly be leaking cash and have to close it down again making it a really bad investment.

I jump started my adventure on here thanks to a junior, Andrew Matthews, bless his cotton socks. Sold him straight out of the academy for 1.4 million. Built my stadium with those money and added a few better players to the squad (different times, lower prices etc). Then another one came along, Mason McNeil. Sold him for over a 1.3 million. Both ended up playing for England. So (probably luck matters too) the academy could be a massive boost after all when in lower leagues. My advice: go for it! Take it easy on the coach, doesn't need to be expensive. A junior with talent will pop up anyway even if at a slower rate. I can't remember but I'm sure I couldn't afford a brilliant coach back then.

That is exactly what we need, positive energy!
Everyone can contribute to a crucial player in the national team! All you have to do is open a junior school and try your hand at it! :-)
Thanks for that Jensen :)

Thank you for sharing this information and as I wrote to you in a private message, I hope the junior school will soon be back at your club and the results will get better and better! Good luck! ;-)

Polson is my greatest story, I bought him to fill up the squad. He barged his way into the first team, popping up in every skill that mattered. +15 pace and stuff like that. Still my all-time top scorer, 237 goals for my club. The real legend of this club. That makes me think of Vialli, Sampdoria legend, a player I always loved and sadly today he died. I'm a Lazio fan but as a child I was always writing Vialli on my t-shirt when playing football on the street (couldn't afford to buy a Vialli top, south of Italy was not as wealthy as the north). May he rest in peace.
Sorry I hijacked this topic.
