Exceedingly good crisps.

A team that is still the benchmark despite not having existed for about 5 years now.

My benchmarks are Thames and Legia (sorry if your hats don't fit anymore, yous two). Your benchmark is not even existing anymore. I get it, this mcoi won lots of titles and cups in England. But I bet you any money, if I was playing back then under those circumstances, mcoi wouldn't be the 'benchmark'.

The manager is still active, so the legacy lives on.

The game was very different at the start with bots etc, I wasn’t around then. Mcoi are still statistically the best achieving team though. ;)

It was far more competitive then than it is now. Bots was 1 season.

2-0 win tonight. Fenland's 37yo no help against Legia so now have a cushion between myself and them.

I can only beat what’s in front of me, I wasn’t around at the very beginning like you were so I can’t comment on the good old days ;)

I’m quite confident I’ll now achieve a 4th straight double which is 4 more than I ever expected. I am not a fan of the new training regime though, and I feel younger players should come out from the school better and train quicker due to the shorter seasons.

I was around at the beginning. Mr gibbage was unbelievably flukey. Glad he left the game.

TBH early in the game the coach who I felt was tactically strongest was redjim. He just couldn’t be bothered to spend enough time in the game and maximising his teams financial strength - which is really important all round.

Yes I agree, making good tactics is key. Phil I remember well for his pace training and making huge profits constantly. Evertonians won many leagues after I stopped playing, ironically I gave him my tactic as he was struggling and it then tyat he won all his titles.

Ermejo I met once in real life, an Italian guy who lived in London, we started around the same time too….he won numerous titles and was a good player. Lots of people have come and gone again, the only reason I didn’t was keeping the youth school going.

It was definitely peak around that period. I think it says it all that there are 2 current teams who have won the prem and 2 managers with different teams who have won it.

You can argue about bots etc, but Mcoi won the prem multiple times both in the early days, and a lot later still. Certainly had staying power until it was time for a new challenge. Although had not been relegated, would still be with the original team now.

Will never forget the 88th minute equaliser that consigned you to another III season.

Your titles were propped up by 1 transfer in particular though!

Oh, the times when you could buy a great striker for 400k and a lot of teams played with default tactics...
I wonder what happened with these teams that used to get a maximum of outstanding for defending? Don't tell me...the Blitz and all that....

I will take the crisps but Thamesmead are the benchmark. The way you rebuilt that squad and are now virtually invincible is the best of the best in my view. The game has changed, enabling more inter-divisional mobility so getting to the top and staying there are harder to achieve than they used to be

Now that's a surprise... I thought all stars friendlies are your benchmark. Let me guess, the player that you admire the most is the late Derbin.

Thank you :)

It took a lot of seasons of having young trainees in my midfield to get here, the key was having a conveyor so that when I sold one a good one was ready to take the place. The new training will affect my team soon I think though.
