Asunto: Season 63

2023-09-04 00:01:43
I've been rubbish this season. Yet might still be finishing 5th.

I won’t argue with that statement, given your team you should not be that low. :p

The Prem must be more fun than 2 though?

I admire Div 2 more, more genuine, I played against managers that have managed without money and have grown their own players, some of them Premier level and more.

What fun is the Prem? I gave the example of Boston earlier. And now Nothis playing God.

5th on ratings last match, so probably at about the right level. Run of red cards first half of the season was unhelpful!

You get to lose to wdp by some, possibly many goals. So you've got that to look forward to.

Best thing about this Premier season is that Fenland and Boston won't be part of it. Hope they'll trip over their zimmer frames against U Craiova.

Being in Division 2 (I've seen questions being asked by some):
-fans number doesn't grow as fast as Premier. On the other hand, doesn't fall as fast. I don't know exactly the dates but on the graphic it shows that at some point I had 2549 members. I have now 2395, after a perfect season.
-financially: minus 4% compared with the last season (Premier). Div 2 (21 games - 21 wins) compared with my worst season in Premier (not finacially though). Because compared with a good competitional season I am 164% better. Results do matter but a financial season could be affected by transfers, etc. But on real money I got 3.5 mil vs 3.0 mil(last season) from tickets. Sponsors payed 1.6mil compared to 1.9mil. So, overall, the main income resources: +200k. Costs are more or less the same: +50k players wages, -100k for trainers (changed a couple at the start of season). So the main money profit/loss vs last year: +250k. Then it's up to other income/costs: junior academy sales or commisions, trainers recruitment, other commisions, fanclub fees, sponsorship bonuses, player transfers in/out.
-training: it's a bliss since the bench was made bigger and the subs are now up to 5/game. You get to give all players minutes in the first 11 and increase the training efficiency for them. My squad's value grew from just under 10mil to just under 14mil. And I'm still 5th ranked in England. Mind you I've had a sensational season.

In conclusion: don't be afraid of the relegation, embrace it :))) As long as you prepare for it (like Burnley does) take it as an opportunity to become stronger. (Boston and Fenland excluded). I planned for it long before the Premier season finished. And I must admit, I knew I was going to come back before the season started in Div 2. Didn't expect to do so well though.
I'm gonna miss Div 2, can't wait to come back :))))

I imagine on the financial side, if you was a team in a playoff position vs top end II you would have more money from being in the prem. Also making a difference would be the II you end up in. Your particular II has more "bigger" teams and outpoints the other IIs by 3 rating points. But makes a good case if all you are going to do is get walked over each game.

Obv the circumstances could be different, I'm only able to talk about mine. Point is: relegating is not that bad if you decide to make a few changes and push up a few young players. It's deffo a better choice than playing for 11 points in the Prem with a 30+ years old squad. I was worried that financially is going to be a disaster. It wasn't. At all.

Those are interesting stats tbh.

This season I have made around £3.6m without including transfers in or out. Thats profit.

I lost 2 fans today.....and have done so quite a few weeks despite winning all of my matches. I now have 2927 supporters. I managed over 60,000 fans last night against Rock Bottom and of weather is good then on Wednesday I would say there is a chance of over 80,000 fans against Legia.

A fair wedge more than me.

My lacklustre season has seen around £1m profit excluding transfers although still have 1 home game left so will probably be around £1.2m-£1.3m mark. A slight downturn on last season of £1.5m for the season but that's reflected in standing in the league. Was a solid 3rd place position this season, but lost many more times this.

That is one great side of playing in the Premier, the seasonal profit. But for developing squad Div 2 is a perfect environment. Don't forget, my squad has some players that way over paid considering the level I've played. I could've easily competed without the highest wages in my squad and probably add at least 1 mil to my profit.

Plus, I've got some 682k temporary expenses. Buying coaches. 200k trying to recruit trainers.

My first game will be against Padstow Rovers.

For the last 5 seasons I have won the double which means competitive gates to the end in the cup, prize money of £150,000 and decent gates from the league. I would guess my wages are the highest in the league but I am achieving the best gates? Even friendlies I have been getting 12,000+. I usually end up playing the same team because I forget to put an advert out, I come on and I always have an invite from them so it's easy and lazy of me! lol

I sold 1 player this season and have around £19m to spend, but I do need to replace a triple super divine striker.....I can't seem to find one, I also need couple of younger defenders but equally they are difficult to find for a decent amount.

I also have a huge amount going on at work and at home so I have struggled to be on when players deadlines are, this is why I wonder if I may quit at the end of this cycle, we will see I guess.
