Reminds me when I was young and I used to train a group of kids U10 at the local club. I took over a team that was used to lose every game they were playing. I used to tell them to take every 5 minutes as a full game and make sure they don't lose it. It was the only way I could keep them focused for the whole duration of the game and (mostly) make them accept substitutions lol. We won every tournament we went in that season.
Al's doing the same. Then again, I'd guess he's older than 10 :)))

I used to coach kids teams and I love that 5 minute section idea. My team was good tbh so I didn’t have to worry so much about the 5 minute thing. As for Aluminium he is way older than that ;)

Everyone else around the pitch (including the refs) thought I was crazy when I was shouting every five minutes 'game starts now!' :)))

My last chance to avoid relegation from U21 Premier was taken away. Because one team pulled out, my team is not playing the last game of the season. So unfair.

I am amused by the fact that the U21 Premier is led and will probably be won by Fenland. The grandchildren of the senior squad.

I’m 50 next February, scary thought tbh. My Nan bless her lived until 99, she said to me one day that in her head she still felt 18.

I’ve no plans to retire yet, I’m not sure what to do with my team cycle as it’s virtually impossible to replace my older players with equally good players a couple of years younger.

Tell me about it. I was following two 21's incredible defending, nothing else special about them, they went for £2mil each!!! No chance for me if the market goes like this. I'm going to fully rely on those crappy juniors I'm being given. If only the 5 minutes tactic would work on here too LOL

It has to be said what was previously a "crappy junior" might actually be a decent one now. I do also wonder if really 16yo juniors will long term be better providing they have talent.
