Dev Diary 77: Tax reform (final)

After several more or less successful attempts, the time has come to finally introduce tax reform. Here is how it will work soon*.

.



• The new rules will take effect from 15 June and all transactions finalised on that date will already be taxed according to the new scale.

• This means that it also applies to players placed on the transfer list on earlier days, who will be sent away from 00:00 on 15 June..

• The amount of tax according to the length of stay at the club is as shown in the chart.







• The tax can take a value from 8% to 50%.

• For easiness, it will operate in steps and take only integer values.

• It will still not possible to sell a player who has been at the club for less than 4 weeks.

• The first transaction of an alumni, regardless of their length of stay at the club, will be taxed at 8%.

• For other transfers, the tax will reach 8% after 105 weeks at the club.

• The amount of tax is calculated on the final sale amount of the player.

• The amount of tax is determined when the player is sent away after the auction.

• You will see the percentage tax that will be charged on the final amount as you list the player on the transfer list.

Not the best written but fairly sizable tax hikes incoming in just over 2 weeks time, in particular for players not in teams long.

A good measure. We'll have to see if it is going to stop the market speculation or instead, will drive the inflation even higher.

Would someone like to explain to me why Barca is coming on at halftime when we're 3-0 up? Would someone explain why Jurado is coming on on 70 when we're 3-2 up.

WHEN THE EXPLICIT ORDER IS THAT THEY ONLY COME ON IF WE'RE LOSING.

Won 8-1 at Rock Bottom tonight, missed 2 penalties too. No injuries or suspensions so it was a good night.

I’ve had a change in formation before when winning but it was set for of losing…….strange when orders mess up so clearly.

This isn't the first time this has happened, but this time it got me relegated when I was 3-0 up at halftime.

That’s such bad luck…. :(

Probably should have just played reserves to make up for mucking up my friendly lineup!

Comes to something when the fans have no expectations of getting a result when it's 1st v 3rd!

Did think about doing a 5 defender lineup but then decided couldn't be bothered!

In all seriousness it was a big game for me to win, you have a decent side, and are deservedly 3rd atm.

RTS Widzew Łódź - Welling United 9:0: This is a very important victory that moves us to second place, following Schadenfreude's win over Elmstead Legends.

It's a computer language (1 and 0), like an IF function in Excel. Decision process was: "are you losing by more than 1 goal? No. Than make the sub."
It happened to me too. That's why I pick "drawing or losing".

Nevertheless, another tough one to take, you were again 3-0 up and (this time) lost 3-4. I would be fuming too. On the other hand, you should be proud of the fact you're just minutes away from winning these games. Plus, you won against the leader this season, arguably the greatest team the English Division 2 has ever seen :D

That is absolute nonsense, in 2 ways.

Firstly it directly contradicts the order. I don't care what the coding says, the order should only be activated if the condition is met and it very obviously wasn't.
Secondly, you see Czopzic? He didn't come on, which is what would happen if this bullshit code was doing what you say.

I'm not angry at you, incase that's how this is coming across, but I am extremely pissed off and I want this fixed.

With 2 games to go in Division 2:
Colne and Schadenfreude are back in the Premier. Forest Resurrecteds are the first team already qualified for the promotion play-off.
Black Mages, Kendal, Timisoara, Jotun, Oxford, MKS Pogon, Nottingham Forest and Cycle are relegated to Division 3. Inter Row, Welling, Corvin, Navua, Hunstnaton: play-off to stay in Division 2.
Maidenhead, Colchester, Abacus promoted to Division 2. Southort is qualified for the promotion play-off.

Div 2.01:
Still fighting for promotion: Anfield, Stiffs, Inter, Canonly and Chuck, all within 4 points. Stiffs v Chuck and then Stiffs v Inter in the last two rounds.
Fenland and Boston are fighting for the 6th place, Craiova, Crows and Hajduk are trying to avoid direct relegation, with Crows v Craiova next game.
Black Mages and Kendal have relegated.

Div 2.02:
Schadenfreude are the champions.
RTS, Elmstead, Dunarea, Los Trios and Polska are separated by 4 points. Elmstead v Dunarea & Los trios v Polska in the last week. But RTS have two easy games that could keep their 2 points cushion and see them in the play-off.
The relegation is all set. Just a matter of the order of the teams going into the play-off.

Div 2.03:
Colne are the champions. The only team without a defeat in the top leagues.
Forest Res will play the play-off for Premier.
Szolgyorok, Northern Thistle, Cobra and Squeezers will fight for a place outside the relegation play-off. Squeezers v Northern Thistle in the next round.
Navua can't change anything, they will be playing the relegation play-off.
Theoretically, Hunstnaton is still involved in the direct relegation battle. Their next game is against Pogon though and they will win by default. So they will play the play-off too.
That means that Nottingham Forest, Cycle and Pogon are relegated.

I thought the same when it happened to me. Hence, I avoid using the orders with "at least", "at most". Well, I lie, I use the ones with "winning by at least x goals" but only because it worked and I can trust is going to do what I had in mind. But best is to use "drawing or losing". It's a clear order and the system can't mess it up.

The big unknowns are mostly in Div 2.01, who's going to win the first two places, who's going to finish 3rd from bottom, who's going to get the 6th place? Div 2.03 is only waiting for the 6th place battle to conclude.
In my opinion, Division 2.02 is done.
